While he made a lot of bone headed moves in retrospect.....as well as elephant contracts. Many of the things he did (Frank Thomas, BJ Ryan, Vernon Wells) needed to be done at the time and could have been argued that they were good moves.
That said, none worked out, and hence the firing was legit.
I personally think this is great news. I am interested to see who they may be able to lure into the position. I think they have to get the President position figured out first. Then see what the new regime can do. I would love to see a guy like Steve Phillips be shortlisted for the position.
