A few of you guys know that I own a bar/restaurant in Calgary called The Trop. We've been operating since 2011 and are fortunate to have a lot of local celebrity regulars. Guys like Craig Button, Robyn Regehr, Mike Vernon, several Calgary stampedes, those property brothers, blue rodeo...
Well earlier tonight I was at home doing some hockey card organizing and got a text from my partner that none other than Johnny Hockey was at our establishment. So I hustled up and went down to the bar to welcome him and thank him for coming in and to give him some flames fan love since my partner is a misdirected oilers fan.
Johnny was totally cool, laying low. Our doorman told me that he id'd Johnny on his way in and made some comments after seeing his ID about being from New Jersey and they had a nice quick conversation and he didn't even clue in until 15 minutes later one word started to spread through the bar that mr hat trick was there.
I went over to his table introduced myself as an owner of the bar and a hockey card collector. When He heard me say hockey cards his eyes lit up. Was pretty cool. I didn't want to draw much more attention as he was trying to just enjoy himself but I got a quick discreet pic and told him I wanted to show my card collecting friends. He was super friendly about it so here's me and Johnny....
I'm the bald guy, Johnny's the guy in the hat.

And if anyone from HI is ever in Calgary and want to come down send me a PM and I'll meet you down there and buy you a beer!
