to add a Spezza auto to my all-time greats PC, I trade for a card without seeing a scan, and end up with this...

UpsideDownSpezza.jpg

It would have been nice to know that Upper Deck threw the sticker on upside down. I blame them, of course, for the card even being released, but myself for not getting a scan first. My only card in the mail today, and not only am I not keeping it for my PC, but who in their right mind is going to trade me for it? Waste of cardboard and ink, unless you're into error cards.

On that note, anyone got a Spezza autograph available for trade?

Ouch! There were a few like that in that set. Pretty sure there were quite a few of the Kiprusoff's that were upside down.

Panini? Cut auto of Terry Sawchuck that wasn't even his.
ITG? Emerald Between the Pipes.

They all have had their share of SNAFU's.

A friend of mine had one of the Rick Nash cards that had a sticker on it upside down. He took the sticker off and had Rick sign it at a practice. Looks pretty cool too.

It's happened before with one of Jason's SPGU game - UNcorrected ERROR!

THAT was the error on most of the SPGU auto Patches. I think the first 10-12 are right side up and the rest are upside down. (I have a 40's # /50 and it is flipped, and seen others starting in the 20's that are flipped but also seen one under 15 that is correctly orientated.)

Blame the players in having absolutely no pride in their signature.... you would never mistake a Howe, Bower, Hull, Beliveau or Richard signature like you would the chicken scratch that passes as a signature nowadays.

I collect Neely and Ovechkin, and although they've both got unique autos, they're not exactly neat and legible. Still, once you've seen the auto a hundred times, you recognize it, and all those cards being made at once? If they were all upside down, OK, but I've seen 20 of these cards, this is the only one I've seen wrong. Ah well, I may have someone trading for it, and may have another Spezza coming in, so no harm, no foul.

If your not going to keep or trade it, you may as well try to heat it up and reapply it correctly.
