Hello all,
Well, I've been trading online for quite a while, I've completed hundreds of trades between this site, along with many others. Never once has it happened to me that a card went missing because of shipping.

Well recently I sold a Gretzky auto/patch to a fellow member in Germany. At the time, I couldn't ship the packages on my own due to work hours so I had a buddy of mine go ship numerous packages for me. Made sure to tell him to ship the package going to Germany insured. fast forward in the day I asked if he shipped the one going to Germany insured. Right away he gives me a shocked look and says he completely forgot..

So I'm already pretty dissapointed and I'm just hoping, HOPING that the package gets to the other member or else I'm out more than 300$. I think to myself, I've been trading for a while and never once has a package been lost. What are the chances a mistake like this with a high end card gets lost...

Well low and behold, it's been a month and a half and still no card and I've refunded the money. I'm kicking myself big time as a large part of this falls on my shoulders but god damn, of all packages to get lost :badmood:

Here's the card btw..

How trustworthy is that friend of yours? Sounds sketchy that he forgot to mail it insured and now its missing. If it's gone its partly his fault. Who knows for sure though. I understand your work schedule is tough, but I would of made the extra effort to mail something that high end myself to make sure it gets mailed the right way. International shipping sucks. I will keep an eye out for it, pretty hard to forget a card like that. I hope it arrives you never know it may of gotten hung up somewhere.

I can tell you this, it's a veryy good friend that I've known for manyy years. Went to high school together and graduated in the same class in college. Even now, we work at the same hospital together.

Even then, he has no knowledge whatsoever when it comes to hockey, let alone hockey cards. He had no idea what was even in the packages:rolleyes:

Didn't think it'd be a problem at all to let him ship. I was already a week behind shipping the card because when we had agreed to the deal I was out of town. When I came back, at the time I was working roughly 15 hours a day so I just made it easier on myself and made him ship the stuff for me.

Lesson learnt I guess.

There is a chance it has slipped to a surface mail bag and it takes eight weeks then. Happened to me twice.

This would make sense to me.If it did not get air mail stickers put on it and was just sent regular mail than it would be going surface. And that takes like forever.
I sure hope that it shows up.

Also maybe the person that you shipped it to should check at their post office.I have sent a few cards to Germany that were actually just setting at the post offices for weeks before the buyer decided that he would check with the post office and low in behold they were there.Good luck.

I just had a package that I sent from CT to NY take 2 months to get sent back to me by the PO after being undeliverable. 2 MONTHS from one state over.....

Also had a Fedex Ground package from Pennsylvania come to me in CT 3 weeks late - should have been a 2-day delivery time.

Give it some time and a few prayers...

Things usually get there, but as many member can attest, sometimes it takes months before something gets delivered. It would take a lot for it to go missing, unless you have an untrustworthy buyer...

Be patient, I think it will get there. I had it happen to me as well with a tracked package with Canada Post. Showed up in Europe four months later. So if there were no airmail stickers on it, you still have time.

I hope it pops up, but I will keep an eye open,

it might take some time via mail as mention above 2 months

ALL OK, Gretzky is in the house ....

why you send a $ 800-900 cards are not insured, that is not good ... if the card were gone, will be so ... "sdoan19 get the card has, it does not say" ... or the card was ever successful or that the problems are not needed ...
