Is anyone going to tune in for the 132nd running of the Kentucky Derby? I don't gamble so have no real interest in horse racing but the Derby is always kind of kewl to follow as a major event for horse racing. I could not tell you one horse name until I read a little more about this from foxsports.com. At any rate Lexington Kentucky has to be hopping right now!! Here is more from foxsports.com

Yeah I am, since I work at race track Ellis Park in Evansville, IN during the summer season, I got 50 Place on Lawyer Ron, Place means it can get 1st or 2nd, but obviously it would pay less because you have two chances of winning, but still should make quiet a few bucks. I think either Lawyer Ron or Brother Derek is gonna take it this year.

I only put 25 on Lawyer Ron, and he didnt even get up to 4th place, dang. Barbaro won it though, great horse and I believe he is still unbeaten 7-0 and wasn't even the favorite. For 2 bucks I believe he paid 16 bucks=, not bad!

The Toledo Mudhens actually showed the race on the two score boards at the stadium. It was pretty kewl to see it live, although I still have not a clue of any of the horses head held low. Barbaro bolted away from everyone....

I was going to mention that I learned something new about horse racing I had not really thought about. Although I new jockies wore goggles I had no idea they wore up to six pairs and it would be very interesting to see the lack of their vision at the start of a race. As the dirt from the track gets kicked up the racer will quickly remove a pair of goggles pushing them down to their neck. I thought was kind of interesting I just figured they would wipe the goggle quickly as dirt flew up.
