Todd is a good solid coach and firing him first in Edmonton was the wrong choice. With that said, although he is a respected coach in the NHL, he does come with flaws.
In Edmonton, he had the respect of the performers in the locker room..no question.
Guys like Connor, Leon and Nuge were thinking WTF.
Everyone else he gave very limited ice time which likely frustrated those players to no means. For example, I noticed Lucic played a very different game over time when Todd left.
One thing that always frustrated me was Todd would almost never do a coach's challenge on questionable goals. He would stare at the monitor like he always does and move on.
If you watch other teams play, this tactic is very much taken advantage of.
For instance, I noticed as soon as Hitch took over, he definitely used this league rule "tool" to get his team out of some weird goals. I can recall a number of them that went in his favour.
All I am saying is congrats to the Kings as this is clearly a step in the right direction for them, but Todd can be a very stubborn coach at times.
