As per my previous posts I'm still plugging away on my 90's BGS 9.5 collection but there are really on a few key cards remaining. A couple have popped up at prices I’m not willing to pay and I’ve been snipped so many times since Christmas its not even funny…. so this past 4+ weeks of mail days is pretty small. I’ve also peaked an interest in some real vintage so that’s keeping me busy on the ebay searches.

First up is a Scott Neidermayer 90-91 Upper Deck BGS 9.5 (which has a pop 12 in BGS 9.5 form and only 46 are in BGS slabs total, so its impossible to find). First I picked up a PSA 10 off ebay for a nice price and a local collector had just received his graded submission back from Beckett so I offered to trade my PSA 10 for one of his BGS 9.5’s and he agreed. Seems most people are up for this trade due to the huge premiums PSA slabs are fetching these days. Saved me paying to cross it to BGS and everyone’s happy.

Next up I purchased this Joe Thornton Upper Deck ICE BGS 9 from him as well. Super low pop, 99 in BGS slabs, (22) 9’s and (8) 9.5’s. Always loved this set, looks way nicer in person as these acetate cards picture very poorly when not backlit.

I have little desire to chase the French 90’s Upper Deck cards, however this popped up as a BIN on ebay and I legit scrambled to buy it immediately. Criminally low BIN price. Once I get my Score Cdn back from Beckett I will have completed the Jagr RC Gem Mint Rainbow.

Next up is a Crosby Mcdonalds BGS 9.5. Been watching all of Crosby’s rookies in Gem Mint grades shoot up so I grabbed this one. Always like the holo look of these cards and got it for a great price, sold!

I had ebay bucks to use up and legit couldn’t win a single auction all of January so I went BIN searching before they expired… I really wanted a Gordie Howe in my collection and I flip-flopped between a mid-90’s Parkhurst reprint autographed rookie and a legit vintage card. Landing on this 53-54 Parkhurst, third year, Gordie Howe in a BVG 4 slab. This is my first vintage Howe card, I don’t think I owned anything older then 1975-ish and nothing of importance prior to 79 so I wasn’t really sure what to expect but the moment I opened the envelope I was in love. The card has some wear (which honestly I don’t mind at all) and it looks so damn cool with the beige patina and rounded corners. I told my wife I’m kicking myself for not getting into anything vintage previously and she agrees this thing it like a piece of art. Anyways, I love this card. I’m on the search for a matching Rocket Richard from the same set. I’d also like to add a vintage Plante, Horton, Beliveau and maybe a few more Howe’s.

Anyways that’s it for now. I have nothing coming in the mail right now which is a first since I got back in the hobby in the summer but that’s fine. I’m downsizing some duplicates and going to reassess my want list moving forward. Been taking in lots of the social media content and really just enjoying the hobby. Also just found out my wife and I are expecting our first child this summer so that also limits the spending habits in the immediate future hah. Anyways, cheers! Thanks for reading.

That Howe is a beauty. I started collecting vintage lately, nothing fancy but some 70-80s rookies and fun stuff. It's different than modern. I wish I went that path earlier too! :)

Thanks! Not that I needed to get hooked on another subset of the hobby but here we are.

That Gordie is beautiful. Love the 53-54 Parkhurst set. I snagged a Sawchuk from the same set last summer and I'd have to agree how they are like pieces of art.

Sawchuk is the other one I want to pickup from this set too! Love your copy.

Nice additions, and congrats on the pending 1/1!
Thanks Neil. I was confused at the 1/1 of comment at first, thinking you had the wrong thread.... then I figured it out haha. Thanks!

I'm getting old...70s and 80s is now considered vintage LoL...

As for the post, I know there are a million out there, but the Jagr UD Rc is a keeper.

The Junk wax era rookies are hot now especially the stars in PSA 10 and BGS 9.5. I’m amazed at some of the prices especially the Jagr psa 10 premier rookies.
