Okay here's the deal there was a very rare dirk auto /50 on ebay today, and another member and friend of mine wanted it. With like a hour left he bid on it, and asked me to give him a chance at it. So he went to work, etc or whatever. Anyways there was like one minute left and I thought there was gonna be snipers on it, since it is a very very rare dirk auto and it was only at like 105. They usually sell between 170-240. I was worried about him not getting it due to snipers so I bid an extra 45 bucks, and if I would of won then I would of tried to sell it back to him cheaper...however it ended and he still won since he had a way high max bid and he paid like 50 more than what he would..however he gets on AIM and when I apologize he starts tearing away at me and crap about he could of had it for cheaper and that I don't need two of those autos(I have one personally myself) But I told him that I didn't mean no harm in this, just trying to help me, but he said he only had the money for the 100, so the question is, is it really my fault that he's pissed at me for this? Or is it his fault more, because if he only had a 100 he shouldn't obviously put a way higher max bid on it, because if someone else got to him(even though they didnt) its not like he could get pissed at them, and yell at them?

I'm so down from this since this is a good friend. Should I be since I made him pay 50 more for this, or is it his fault too since he had a max bid with more money than he actually did, and actually trying to help him out if he would of gotten sniped? Not to mention that I go out of my way to pay for stuff he don't have money for, and list auctions for him so he can get his Ebay Account back from being suspended for not paying fees? :( :( :(

he shouldnt have bid way more then he could afford to pay. Not your fault. I just bid on a card I never expected to win and I did so I have to get some paypal to cover it. Gotta live within your means. I dont think you did anythign wrong

Florian...heres the deal.

I understand what you did, but if I was winning the card, regardless of you thinking there was going to be snipes or not, you shouldnt have bid. I was winning it, and again regardless of what you thought what might happen, I ended up having to pay $50 becuase you bid.

I appreciate you trying to help, and now im listing cards on ebay to come up with the money. Its not that I cant get the $150, its that I didnt want to pay that much.

My max bid was $151, and that was STRETCHING IT, hoping that I would be able to get it for cheaper.

Luckily I guess, I know the seller from a different site, im going to talk to him and see if I can have you email him and explain what happened and possibly he will understand. I told him that you bid so that I could win it, but you didnt know my ID was idealzauctions.

Anyways you dont need to make a big deal over this, and dont feel bad, money is money and its only money. Sure now I have to sell cards to get it but dont

But this is definately not my fault in any way. Point is I was winning and you saw I was winning and bid forcing me to pay more.

Regardless of my bid, I have 100% feedback in like 6 years on ebay, so I wouldnt bid more than I could afford, its just that my max bid was going to FORCE me to list cards to sell and get the money which I didnt want to have to do if necessary.

But dont worry about it man, ill figure out some way to pay for it, I know your intentions were good. But next time let me know ahead of time before you gamble, I cant afford another $50 im not expecting ;)

Never, ever, ever bid more than you can pay. You should only bid what you can afford. What If your buddy hadn't told you and you just thought somebody else tried to win it. You would have moved on and been poorer but happy. Your buddy was honest enough to tell you. This is my opinion at no time does this reflect what HI is thinking or doing.

Who's to say that someone else also didn't try to snipe it at $145 (or just under your bid price), just after you? Your buddy still would have won, and had to pay the extra. There's no way of telling whether someone elses' bid was just under yours or not if they bid at around the same time as you did, or, set up their snipe. Plain and simple, if you don't want to pay that much, don't bid that much. HOWEVER...if your buddy told you he was going to bid to win, you should have trusted that he had himself covered. If you " would of won then I would of tried to sell it back to him cheaper", then offer to pay some of the difference. You were gonna lose money on it anyways if you planned on selling it to him cheaper than you won it for.
