So, I decided to give epack a try... Over the course of the last several years, I've probably bought 3-5 packs and just immediately transferred what I could just to see how it worked...

For this attempt, I bought a couple of boxes. The struggle is in the trading. I've made trades, but not many. And it seems like if I'm not willing to lose on every trade, I just get down graded... My feedback is just below 4 on 30ish completed trades and I'm called 'greedy' and worse.

I like OPC Platinum, so I decided to try and do an achievement with that. I'm using COMC for values... My most common trade offer (coming to me) is 2-3 inserts which sell for 0.02-0.03 for 1 insert/parallel which sells for 0.25-11.00.

If I say I want more, I'm 'greedy' or 'not going to get trades' or worse.

If I show what I see and ask for an explanation of how they 'value', the trade usually gets cancelled.

Is there a happy medium? Is this just a waste of time/money/effort?

I get that education costs money, so I'm fine writing this one off. And I found a few cool cards that I can walk away with, too, so I'm not too disappointed. Just thought it might be a bit different than this. Any thoughts from other users?

Trading on there is an adventure. There's about 98% morons trying to win trades and/or straight up rip people off or steal from them, and 2% reasonable folks who listen to logic. I always try to explain my rationale as to why I've offered up deals and such, but a lot of folks don't reason well on there and are set in their minds that their stuff is gold and you're is garbage. Just the way it goes on there.

Best advice I have is to just be patient and eventually decent trades will come.

Thanks for the note. At least I'm not completely off my rocker, then.

I think I'm going to try and put together the OPC Platinum Retro set and then be done with it...

I have not been able to complete a single trade. I don't have many cards, but literally no one I have tried is interested in anything close to a 1 for 1 even trade.

Most of the people on there are not collectors, they are day traders.

Unfortunately I'm finding this more and more lately, everywhere not just e-pack. Ebay has also gone ridiculous I've had to open more cases so far this year then I did in the last 14 years that i have been buying on there.

I feel your frustration.

I honestly don't even understand what expectations are at that site. I just offered 5 cards for one, based on what I felt was fair value (3 decent current NHLer YGs, a Marner dazzler and a Matthews NHL Worldwide) for an exclusives /100 card of a guy who has one game in the NHL and never got a shift. and will likely never even play in the NHL again. All current year. I get that I was asking for an exclusives card, but the quality AND quantity I was willing to trade has to mean something. Not only was it declined immediately, which I would have accepted, but then the guy leaves me a one-star rating. I gave what I thought was fair monetarily and also what was more than fair in quality, and for that I get a bad rating.

Why not just say no if you think the offer isn't enough?

I have now transferred all my cards to COMC. I'm done with that place.
