Due to many life circumstances including having my Gilbert Perreault and Sabres collection being stolen.I am trying to get back into the swing of things. My Goalie collection was stolen as well as I was builing a rookies collection.
I am going to move misc stock but would like ideas to help me get back into it and get the sour taste of losing collections

I would say start off small and go from there. :) Or maybe start another PC goalie who won't break the bank so much, and just pick some up here and there and just have fun with it.

If you are on the fence (maybe you have a few goalies in mind?) then send a PM my way and I'll see if I have any extra goalie cards to send your way for free :)

Nice to see another goalie collector :)

Holy smokes...Ron, that is awful! If there are specifics you want me to watch out for from your collection, let me know, ad you know I'm always combing the hobby for Perreault stuff.

Mark

That is not good to hear. Same as above, if there's anything specific that would help track this down, please let me know. Sorry to hear about this.

Really sorry to hear about that! I can't even imagine what I would do if any of my stuff was stolen, let alone my collection.

Are there any particular goalies from the newest group of rookies that piques your interest? Perhaps start a new PC of him.

Ron, really sorry to hear buddy, lmk if there is anything i can help with. glad to hear you are sticking around though.

Sean.

Very sorry to hear this. I have likely 100 extra Patrick Roy cards I can send to help your goalie PC get going again.

Goodness. I feel for you. I had a large chunk of what was left in my collection stolen around this time in 2014. Best wishes in rebuilding.

Thank you all for your support,it has reaffirmed my love and joy for this site.
I do have a few /sabres items left and some Vintage goalie stuff that my son held onto for during my transition.
Thank God for my job as it reaffirms my love for the Game still.I Drive the Zamboni for a Private School here in Buffalo.I actually asked one of our Coaches for an Autograph today..Shelly Looney is out Prep A Girls coach.
In due time I will maybe get the urge to by a box and see what kind of spark it can do.

That's horrible. I've had my cards stolen before. Hopefully, you had insurance.
I just used the insurance money to buy the cards I should have in the first place instead of blowing it on packs and boxes.

Sorry to hear that. I lost my passion a while back to, but starting to get it back, give it time.

Something that's helped me is my new project (in my sig), and even though all the work I've done has been lost due to a hard drive crash, I plan on starting it over again (yes it was that satisfying). I find it's really growing my appreciation for cards and the design work that goes into them.

Good luck on any approach you try :)

Glenn

I too am sorry to hear about the card theft. That really sucks. The collector bug runs deep through us though and with the support and generosity of our members I have confidence that you will bounce back and build up another PC.

I read that and was like "Noooo". Loved looking at your 1968 project especially so sorry its gone. Were the images possibly saved online to photobucket or elsewhere?

Very sorry to hear this. Just awful. Stuff like this brings fellow collectors together. Start slow and see what happens. Maybe PC different players. All the best.

Hi Ron. So sorry to hear about this. I had a similar situation happen to me about three years ago. My entire collection, valuable PC stuff and everything else burned in a fire and was a total loss with all my other belongings. It's a gut wrenching feeling which many cannot relate to especially when you've been building that collection for years, and for myself since I was a kid. Never fully recovered from that loss myself. Although I had insurance following the fire, I moved here not long after that and literally only acquired a few cards before I left. I'd bet I have the smallest collection on HI, literally only 5 cards to my name. Being here well it makes it almost impossible to find hockey anything, obviously. A couple months ago I once again caught the card fever and am still in the process of finding what my collecting focus or niche would be. But good luck to you, and I hope that you can catch the fire again (no pun intended). If you ever want to vent a little more or whatever feel free to send me a PM anytime.

Regards,

Collin
