Verified Trader,
Rewind to last May, when I saw this on ebay (very poorly listed). I could tell the auto was authentic, and the one photo the guy had in the auction looked like the stick had a fair amount of use. I knew it was a good starting bid price, and that it would be an awesome addition to my Henrik card collection.
My birthday was coming up in like 2 weeks, so I had the brilliant idea to put it on my "wish list" for gifts. Well, my sister and girlfriend chipped in and were the only bidders. Final price - the starting bid of $125. I actually was going down to Long Island (where the seller was located) the next week for a wedding, so we picked the stick up in person and saved on shipping.
The story goes that the guy who was selling's son won the stick in a school raffle. Apparently one of the parents worked at MSG and donated a few items for the raffle, including the Lundy stick and a Knicks signed basketball. Since the kid was a hockey fan, he took the Lundy stick when he won - and since they were Islanders fans, they threw it on ebay.
It has WAY too much wear to be only game-used, so I'm thinking either solely practice-used, or game-then-practice-used. I have looked over tons of pictures to try and exact match even one mark on it, and I can't seem to do it. If anyone has resources and time, I will give them $50 for an exact photomatch (not just model and taping job - I've got that - I need an EXACT match with distinguishing marks).
If anyone can decode the date stamp on the stick for me, that would be awesome too.
By my research, it was used in either 09-10 or 10-11.
Sorry it took me 8 months to take pics of it...lol
Enjoy the show!!!
For some reason, my photo rotations in Bucket aren't maintaining here...
