Just got home today after graduating yesterday... Huge stack of mail, but I'll post my favorite item here right now (the rest will hopefully get scanned tomorrow). To explain the title, these items came in a SASE, so here is the story behind them...

I got a Blair Betts Game Used stick for Christmas this year. I tried to photomatch it to at least the year that he used the model but I had no luck. After scouring many image sites (Getty, Google, etc.) I finally broke down and wrote Betts a letter c/o the Garden in January to see if he could identify it for me (I also attached a picture of the stick in question).

Here is what I got back!

And these index cards which I included in my original letter to him...

Really hope we re-sign him.

:dance::dance::dance:

Now that is pretty cool Ryan! and post a pic of the stick already!

Haha, my bad. Here's a pic of the stick (it's the one on top).

It goes nicely with my 2 GU Betts helmets.

How cool is that, Ryan? That's what makes hockey players so great. :)

He did, however, commit a spelling error. "Definatley" should be "definitely". ;)

Hey, I'm a teacher, it's in my nature to edit writing. I'd still give him an A+ for being cool to a fan, though.

Seriously, that's an awesome story with a great outcome. Thanks for sharing it. Like Lee, I would love to see that gamer.

*Edit - pic posted - thanks!

Was wondering how long it would be until someone caught the error, lol, I caught it right away. :)

Gamer is in the 3rd post in the thread.

Just as an aside, I never noticed what a great autograph he has. Good style in the handwriting. It's lost on so many players nowadays, it is nice to see a guy take a little pride in his sig.

His signature has taken the reverse route of most players. Usually they start out nice and get progressively worse, his started out ok and has gotten better. It's always been nice, but when he signed in 98 Bowman it was a lot shorter than it is now.

Probably helps that UD isn't banging at his door asking him to sign thousands of auto's.

Hopefully he'll find his way into a couple 09-10 sets.

Man there are so many good guys in the NHL. I wish they would do the hardsigned BAP product again with most packs having regular joes of the NHL with a few hits being All Stars and dual/multi autos.

Thanks for sharing!

PS - that boy knows how to sign! UD should get him to do some SOTTs.
