Been a few weeks since my last mail post, and things have been a little slow. Here's what's come in since December 7th:

Picked this one up from Ebay. Good to get one out of the way that I may not see around much in the coming years.

The first five cards here came from Wayne Bailey in one of two entries he'll have in this mail post. Mostly just commons for the player collections, with the exception of the surprisingly rare Thomas card - an excellent pickup. Also, the Felsner is technically for my Best-RC collection, but since he's a former Detroit Viper as well, it will work towards the collection I'll be starting up in the coming months - the more specific all-Viper Best-RC collection. More to come from Dr. Bailey later. The Hainsey was received in trade from staal_12, and is available. Thanks for the trade!

03-04 Finnish Cardset D-Day Eric Perrin (x2)
03-04 Pacific Complete Zac Bierk
03-04 Bridgeport Sound Tigers Dieter Kochan
The two Perrin cards, and the Bierk, came in trade from BlindThomen. It went very smoothly, and especially thanks for the extra Perrin! I plan on keeping it as an extra for the collection, but since these are slightly difficult to find on this continent, if anyone needs one for a personal collection of Perrin, I'd be happy to part with it - but only for that reason. The Kochan came from a person overseas as well, who bought the entire set for one player and broke the rest up. Interestingly enough, the Kochan card was featured in the last issue of Beckett! Everything in this picture is for my player collections.

91-92 UD Czech World Juniors Brian Rolston
03-04 Upper Deck Highlight Heroes Jersey Sergei Samsonov
The Samsonov, with a beautiful swatch, came from Ebay and goes towards my collection of Samsonov. The Rolston came absolutely free from HI user mtroads. Thank you Jared! The Rolston kills off the base set of 91-92 UD Czech that I've been working on, but I won't call it dead until I can get the two Gretzky holograms. If you have them, anybody, I'd love to get them to finish this set up completely.

I picked these up from Kyci on the Beckett board, though I was actually contacted from a post I made on the HockeyDB Minor League forum. These are important additions to my Posmyk collection, but unfortunately there's still a few more Czech cards of Posmyk out there that I haven't yet picked up. Even still, getting these five was a big help.

04-05 Czech Martin Cibak
Kyci also sent along this one, which I'm very happy I picked up - who knows if I'll ever see another one like it. From my best guess, it's a team-set postcard put out by the team that Cibak is playing for in the Czech league this season. The back is completely blank. I'm very glad I was able to pick this one up.

04-05 ITG Heroes & Prospects Net Prospects Silver Tim Thomas (/60) (#45!!!)

The stress of trying to acquire these two is now over. I won the silver from Ebay, and the gold came from Wayne Bailey in trade. The swatches on the two are nearly identical. I think it's neat that I've got a matching set, though at the same time, I wouldn't mind a nice yellow/white two-color swatch on one of them. I might look to "upgrade" if I ever get the chance, but I won't fret over it.
Again, thanks to Wayne for the trade. I need to say that Wayne's been extremely helpful to me on multiple occasions, helping me acquire stuff for my player collections - cards that won't ever leave my hands again. Again, thank you!
Now, for the bad news: just as I was excited to update the Thomas counter to 46/50, I find that the new Finnish cardset contains two cards of him, so I had to bump up the denominator to 52. The card company's website doesn't say anything about autographs, however there was a Steve Kariya autograph from the set on Ebay, so now I'm just fearing that Thomas might have an auto to chase after as well.

News and notes:
**Still trying to finish the 99-00 Upper Deck Crunch Time set, so if anyone's got any singles kicking around, I've still got about 1/3 of the set to go.
**The Weekes collection has stalled at 200, as it's really just difficult stuff I'm missing at this point.
**I think it'd be a good idea for anyone "in the know" from European countries to make posts about the card sets coming out from over there. I know that there's new stuff coming out of Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic, and probably other countries as well... and trying to read through (and even trying to find) the card company websites is very difficult. Since Beckett just can't do the work and get solid checklists on this stuff, with all the inserts and variations accounted for, I think it'd be cool if people here could help out with that. To be honest, this is something I'd be happy to "head up" and organize.
And that will be it for this mail post. For a cliffhanger ending, I've got something green and limited to 10 on the way for the next one
