Unexpected mail!

Big thanks go out to our own X-Head for these cards.
I'ma need to find ya something

This one
tuckerclassic.jpg

brings me down to needing 1 card to complete Tucker's base cards for 02-03. (I know it's not a base cardtechnically, but, it goes in the binder.)
Pacific Complete anyone? Last one I need from 02-03.

Into the Smytty collection it goes :)

and finally,
something for the Comrie collection, one I've been trying to track down for awhile

Yay!

Thanks again Jon.

Sorry no big shiny ones for yous guys.
Am expecting a nice one,
but, shockingly hasn't arrived.
like the AHL box.
Something tells me the spring expo will come before that box.

comments welcome ;)

Glad they got to you safely and quickly Phil. But it looks like I sent that package out a little early. While doing some random cleaning I came across these:
03/04 Topps C55 mini Stanley Cup back Smyth
03/04 Topps C55 mini O'Canada black back Comrie
01/02 Bowman Youngstars gold Smyth /150

Ah well, you're the only person I know who collects these guys so I'll put em aside for you.

Philly,

Any additions to your player collection are good additions. :D :D All three of your faves are covered today. Thanks for sharing your nice mail day!!

Not sure if I have one...but if I do it's yours. I've got another card or two here for ya aswell. :)

Wes

BTW: Does Rogers/Tsn/whatever show any Spring Training game when they start? Figured you might know.

I Think sportsnet does, and sometimes rogers cable (local)
but I'm questionable on the latter.

They usually show a couple to a few.

It's funny you mention baseball, I've just spent the last 30 minutes or so tryingto pick games for my flex pack which is half purchased.
Can't pass up 10 games for 50$ + bobblehead (not counting the one from the game I bought tickets to) + 20$ gift card, + 2 upgraded seats.
+ BLUE JAYS BASEBALL! :D

I can't wait till baseball season starts up.
We've had a crud offseason so the season itself has to be much better :)
That and I just love hanging out at the ball park.
You thinking of hitting up some games?

Cool, I'll probably make an effort to watch a few S.T. games then...see if the new Jays are any good. ;)

That's sweet! :D Very cheap too. Awesome.

Yeah...I usually don't really follow how the Jays are doing very closely until the (hockey) playoffs are over. But this year, without hockey, I'll be much more interested. Ya know?

I think I'll go to atleast 1 game this summer...probably go to a game, the HHOF and maybe a couple card shops or something when I'm there. :D Should be fun. I'd love to see the Jays vs the Tigers. That'd be awesome, my two fav. teams. Although, there are plenty of other teams I'd like to see play too.

Where is the best place in the park to sit view wise? I was thinking along the 3rd/1st baseline...but I don't really know.

Wes

Cool,
Here are the dates, DRock city is in town.

Aug 8 vs DET | 9 vs DET | 10 vs DET..| 11 vs DET
7:07 PM .......| 7:07 PM..|..7:07 PM...|..12:37 PM

In all honesty, I'm the wrong guy to ask where the best placeto sit is.
I prefer to sit upstairs, namely, 500 level.
1) I prefer the view, you can usually get seats behind the plate and enjoy the game unfolding infront of ya and view the whole field.
2) Foul balls are nothing to be bothered with, you can go in and out of paying 100% in tight attention tothe game and not have to worry about being clubbed in the side of the head by a foul ball.
3) Leg room, most games there's not many people kickin around in the upper bowl and you can usually find a row with noone infront of you, this means you can kick out your legs. I'm 6'3, this bonus is a HUGE one.
4) cost wise, for me, who would rather see a lot of games as opposed to fewer games up close, it's perfect.

That said,
If you're looking to drop a bit of coin.
200 level club seats are impecable.
The padded seats, the posh bathrooms, the carpet floors in the concourse, it's very nice in there.

That said, those seats can run ya. I got to sit there last year gratus (oh how sweet ticket giveaways are, prolly went to about 4 games last year on the blue jays dime.)

Also it depends when the game time is.
If you're going to a 4pm afternoon game start time, avoid first baseline, or bring a hat plus dark sunglasses.
If you're goign to a 1pm game, I would also suggest bringing the hat and sunglasses.
It can be very difficult to pickup the ball on the firstbase side during the afternoon games, the sun is literally right in your eyes from about 2pm-the time the sun goes below the dome base.

However, if that's not a worry, it can be pretty nice there, for a tall guy like me, I lacked leg room big time, course I usually take a backpack with a drink into the game, (3.50 for a watered down coke my backside)

Third base side, if you're going to a summer game, 4pm start, and sitting on that side bring a jacket or sweater. Depends what your cold threshold is, but, it'll be tested on that side of the park.
It's not uncommon to see half the stadium shivering while the other half is throwing a beach party.
They're usually pretty lax with letting you switch sides if you're cold/hot, but, it depends on capacity.

That turned into a ramblefest.
I'm up early and over tired ;)

Nice pickups for the PC. Hey, the cards don't have to be $100+ cards to be nice. I'm like you any new cards for my player collections are exciting from base cards to high end stuff. All of it's cool. Thanks for sharing. Mike
