Registered Trader,
Been a busy month or so and the mail has really piled up on my desk. There’s a lot of scans so I’ll get right into it.
First though a quick Colgate Football update… We are currently 5-2 (1-0 Patriot League). We beat Cornell 38-22 this past weekend and play Bucknell on Saturday. Still no game action for me but it’s still a load of fun. The coaches even have me playing a little defense in practice which is nice with the 30 degree weather lately, lets me stretch out the legs and run around a little. I even got pancaked (blocked, knocked over, and fallen on) in practice yesterday which was an experience lol.
Now to the pickups… I know at least a few of the eBay pickups are courtesy of HI members so thanks again!
This first batch of scans is courtesy of a contest Lundqvist2Detroit had. Huge shout out to her for the great cards she was able to send me, and for the one currently on its way to me free of charge as well. Thanks again Sarah! (The cards in the first scan are FT, the rest are for my PC)
Next up are a few cards of some Colgate grads. I have stopped picking up Joey Mormina cards unless his Victory Black surfaces but I will continue with the Jesse Winchester collection. He just graduated last year and is a fellow geography major. I had a class with him and we actually wrote a couple papers together which was cool. With stuff still incoming my collection of him is complete for now minus his blank back parallel from OPC.
Next up is Colton Orr’s base card from this year’s OPC. I have the retro variation /100 incoming from Lundqvist2Detroit, and still need the Gold, Retro, and Retro blank back versions. My collection sits at 19/28 (67.86%) with 1 incoming.
A slew of new Daniel Girardi’s are up next. I’m making some progress on my collection of him. These (plus a few incoming) bring me to 33/58 (56.90%). The SPGU Auto /100 and ITG Jersey /100 are both my second copies while the MVP gold /100 is my 3rd copy to match my 3 copies of the Super Scripts /25. Special thanks to John Giffen (jdg573) for the Cup plate and a few incoming cards.
Now we actually have a Henrik Lundqvist sighting! I love the design of this set and I couldn’t let this jersey #’d version pass.
Finally, a few new additions for my Blair Betts collection. I had mentioned last month that it was the first mailpost in a while with no Blair Betts or Debut Threads Patches. Well there are no Debut Threads Patches this month but there are a few Betts’! The first one is my 4th copy of the 06-07 OPC Rainbow parallel /100. They go well with my 11 copies of the 07-08 OPC Micromotion Black /100. The second one is the first new addition to my Betts collection in quite a while. It is a team issued postcard that was signed after being issued. I would prefer it to be unsigned but the signature is growing on me and the chances of me coming across another are slim. I’m not sure if it is 05-06 or 06-07 but it goes nicely with my 07-08 version and recompletes my Betts collection for the year 1999-present. Overall I move to 25/30 or 83.33%!
Make more Betts cards UD or ITG!
Thanks for the peek, comments are always appreciated.
