Being from Vancouver, and being a Canucks fan... its such a heart wrenching experience.

We were one number off from winning the lottery draft tonight.... we are cursed over 45 years with no cups and 1st overall picks. Luck just doesn't get any better for us.

On that note at 5 hoping to pick one of Mittelstadt, Vilardi or Glass.

it should get better hopefully they dont need to go a few years or moreof sucking like the leafs...oilers and yes pittsburgh....dont feel to bad Avs had the best odds and still ended up with 4th overall

Truth!

But I know what he means, the current incarnation of those two teams are utterly dreadful.

It is a rough go being a fan of my 2 teams currently, especially getting screwed in the draft lottery each year. You can say the Sabres "tanked" but the Avalanche were just straight up awful. There was no getting rid of star players, no "rebuild" mode, just overall a pile of junk last year. And the fact that after that completely awful season they have to pick 4th, it just doesn't seem fair to me. Nor is it fair to the Canucks who are also (no offense Nucks fans) awful, and about to rebuild now having to pick 5th, or the expansion franchise picking 6th. None of that is fair.

Honestly this draft looks like 2012 where the best players won't be going top 3 anyway

It'll get better eventually, even when you think it never will. Signed: a Leafs fan.
A Minnesota fan since 1967 (at least the Leafs won in 1967 :D )...then they ripped our North Stars team away after 1993....then watch the DALLAS version win a Cup to rub salt in the wound and piss us off even more....then 7 years without a team even....and now the Wild...still no Cup. :|

I thought the Leafs were cursed for eternity after the McJesus draft where we had the best chance of winning with one ball left but didn't. Luckily last year changed that with Matthews but watching the lottery on Saturday really made me appreciate just how lucky the Leafs were last year to win it.

Keep the faith. Remember, they got Mattias Ohlund with a 13th overall, Cody Hodgson with a 10th overall, Grabner with a 14th, Corey Schneider with a 26th, Luc Bourdon with a 10th, Ryan Kesler with a 23rd and Kevin Bieksa with a 151st pick. Its all about the scouting. Be patient, eventually the sun shines even on the dogs arse.
