Marchand suspended two games

The NHL has suspended Boston forward Brad Marchand for the Bruins’ final two games of the regular season for spearing Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Jake Dotchin.

The incident occurred in Boston’s 4-0 win over the Lightning on Tuesday. Marchand received a five-minute major and game misconduct on the play.

The suspension announced Thursday included Boston’s key matchup that night against visiting Ottawa as well as its season finale Saturday against Washington.
 
1. Good, Marchand deserves it. He needs to realize what a skilled player he is and stop making bonehead moves.


2. Crosby didn't get suspended because he's Crosby

I hate to disagree with you, sort of. I agree with the two games for Marchand due to the previous history. Just because you call Crosby a dirty player doesn't mean he has league punishment history. And yes it makes a difference anywhere in life. In school if a kid who never gets in trouble does something one day and a repeat offender does a similar thing another day, I'll tell you right now, the punishment is different. In the court system ... I hope you get the point. I am not a Pittsburgh fan and am not a Crosby fan, in fact I can't really stand him!!!

The act of spearing someone in the groin intentionally is suspendable, period. Crosby should have gotten one game at the very least. Marchand should be suspended for 5+ games for anything he does moving forward considering his history

I would have been fine with a 1 game suspension. It was a dirty play. It still wasn't a spear, though.

I agree with this completely. Crosby 1 or 2 and Marchand 4 -6 or even more. These hits make the league look bush league!

Frank, What type of fan am I? Just curious.. My post was not defending Crosby at all. It was pointing out how much crying goes on about incidents in the game. Its the same old, same old. I also have not posted on the discussion board for 2 years, so not sure where you see the Posts from me. I usually ignore the ignorance of the discussion forums and I think I will again.


Neo, not sure what you meant by ignore the yinzers.. but I will overlook it.. not worth arguing about it. I am a Pens fan no doubt. Do I think that the Pens do nothing wrong? No I do not. It is just frustrating to see every post in the "discussion" threads relate somehow to Crosby and the Pens. I know haters gonna hate, but I think everyone has a right to rebut what is said. Why does no one compare incidents to Ovechkin? Does he do nothing wrong? He gets away with stuff to. As does a lot of other players. But Crosby is always the one to take the brunt of every discussion, usually in a negative manner.
Biggest crybaby in the league? Maybe at one time, but certainly not anymore. It just shows your disdain for Crosby. Since Sullivan took over, Sid does not complain anywhere near what he used to.
