Came across this interesting Matthews Card it is from the lost set of 90-91 OPC Premier I guess it was made by a physic since he was born 7yrs after ;);)

I know it says custom made card in the description but it's funny how they are selling it as The Lost 90-91 OPC Premier Set. These guys making custom cards just make me laugh.

If you look at past sales they make custom lost cards of all different players and sets. I really think Upper Deck should look into these since they have the OPC rights.

I think that card is cool. I noticed some of the other “lost set” cards and think that guy is doing a nice job of them. I think Topps actually owns the old OPC designs (not 100%) so I think they would be the ones with the beef if things got out of control. But if you don’t like it I get it.

If he only makes a handful of these, I doubt it would be worth the trouble to go after him for using the players names, likenesses, and the NHL, and the team logos.

Having said that, they look cool, and seem to be well made, but who has the heart to tell this guy those 83-84 cards he made are actually resembling the 84-85 versions. :snapout:

Hire this man...

Creativity is what makes cards appealing. Its cardboard after all...

I think Upper deck should look at this guy but not because he got creative and made a few dollars doing so.
They should realize that there is a market for vintage stars and do another vintage themed set. I'm sure there is money involved aquiring the use of old photos but some of those are the best I've ever seen. The Gretzky wha or 1st NHL pics are absolutely stunning.

UD can certianlly take a page out of that sellers book and add to their bottom line....shame they don't realize it

Some nice looking stuff he's got for sale.... I own a couple of Ranford "customs" done like that (had someone else make them for me).

Not sure his attention to detail is always spot on though.... see the Gretzky lot, and the "Pacers" cards.

There’s a dude on Blowout called “Mouschi” that makes KILLER customs. I’m stunned that no one has hired this guy. That Premier Card is sharp.

It's not creativity so much as infringement. There's nothing clever about this. It's just making a few bucks off the work of others.

Upper Deck did the same with all the sets I grew up with.

Mass producing. Taking from others and making it their own.

For the collector who spent their time in their early ages of 10's. 11's. 12's...going to card shows, flea markets, and finally going big organized shows.

We need diversity to grow.

Making money, once fixated is making money.

Collecting hockey cards is a hobby for me...something to take a break from.

In the end we chose.

I like ITG, UD, Panini, Topps...

All of these should have a license.
