Flash back to my August thread about me picking up a Tom Preissing game-used Senators jersey with the intention of giving it to my good friend, Scott, who is Tom's uncle and godfather. When he saw it, he was excited. But he said he couldn't accept it. He gets enough stuff from Tom. He said he was going up to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area where Tom's parents live for a visit. He said Tom was going to be there and he could get it autographed. I said great! I also told him to have Tom sign the fight strap only. I heard from big game jersey collectors to do that as to not distract from the game-used authenticity. Don't know myself..... but I go with that.

Anyway, a couple days after Scott took it, he informed me that Tom hurt his knee and the Avs wanted him to stay in Denver to have it looked at. He ended up having it scoped and is out for a month. So he didn't get a chance to see Tom personally to have it autographed. Instead, Scott sent it to Tom via FedEx. A few weeks later, Tom's wife, Danielle, returned it to Scott. I just got it today.

Tom signed the fight strap:

He also included auto photos for my two sons, Trevor, and Connor.....and one for me.

Very nice on Scott's part to get that done....and very nice of Tom. Even though he's on my Wild's rival team, the Avs, we are fans of him! :D

Get healthy, Tom....the Avs will need you!!! :)

Thanks for taking the time to check this post out!

Great story! It's great to hear about guys who "get it". That the fans are the best part of being a player and are willing to connect like that. Also great to see him throwing in stuff for the kids like that.

Fantastic story Curt. Those Pics are amazing and good on Tom for including the Auto'd pics

Congrats
Dean
