When I was in middle school my "computer teacher" had a subscription to a database with the personal addresses of numerous famous people. Our task as students was to compose a letter to someone of our choice, and if they responded, extra credit would be rewarded.

We also had to ask questions about their computer setups as it was a "computer class", pretty embarrassing if you ask me.

Below is my 12 year old masterpiece.

I've always enjoyed the personal type interactions, it's better than the run of the mill stuff we see every day, which is to say cards. Thank you for sharing this!

I loved writing to players, my brother recently picked it back up again and I think the bug is hitting me here

Despite all the great cardboard showing up here during the last couple weeks, this is one of the best posts I've seen. Thanks for sharing.

P.S. Your P.S. made me lol

What a friendly response by Pavel Datsyuk !

In the early 1990-er years , I wrote to every Formula 1 team . I found out , the smaller the team , the more friendly the response . Especially Gabriele Tarquini wrote a very nice letter .

Fwiw I just started again and 6/7packages have come back - Roy, Lafleur, Weber, Gilbert, Lebeau and Boivon. Have a type 1 of Lindros still out there but expecting that to take a while even pre covid.

Feel like a 10 year old ripping open the returns, tons of fun and cheap.
