First, I can't thank tsp247 enough for parting with the last piece of this puzzle. He knew I only needed the Vanek to complete the set and let it out of his PC so I could finish this off. Thanks again!
I started building this in December '06. I picked up the Lundqvist 30/60 and Ovechkin 08/60 for under $70 each (both jersey #'d) and I figured I'd try and slowly work at the set, slowly being the key word. jdg573 and beethyboo each finished this set before I was halfway done and John managed to lap me twice (by finishing the 06-07 and 07-08 sets) before I finished this one off. Both John (jdg) and Roman (beethyboo) were tremendous helps with the set so I want to thank them for that. John especially provided a lot of encouragement to keep at it when I was still a long way away. Well without typing much more, here is the Vanek followed by 1 of 10 possible sets (Crosby is /1 so I don't count that).
In other news, I found the first example of a faked patch from this set. You can see details on that here.
