Got these yesterday, I sold off all of my "modern" cards recently and used some of the money to treat myself to a few jerseys.

First up is a Michelle Picard 2014 Sochi Olympics Team USA gamer. Michelle plays hockey at Harvard University, and although only 5'4" and 150 pounds, she is as feisty as you can get. I love her game, think Brendan Gallagher type of offensive ability and the ability to get under your skin very easy!

And then there is this one. 1996 was a HUGE year for USA Hockey, most Canadians don't like to talk about it very much. :D I absolutely love the style of jerseys USA came up with this year, it might be my favorite jersey design ever (at least for USA hockey as the BlackHawk jerseys are damn tough to beat). This was the year we saw a team that included Wayne Gretzky, Steve Yzerman, Eric Lindros, Joe Sakic, Mark Messier, Trevor Linden, Theo Fleury, Adam Graves, Brendan Shanahan, Scott Stevens, Paul Coffey, Rob Blake, Scott Niedermayer, Martin Brodeur, Cujo, etc take on a huge underdog squad in a best of 3 series to win the World Cup of Hockey. Those pesky hard working "kids" from the US pulled off a minor miracle and beat a team loaded with arguably the best hockey talent in the world at that time. I still remember where I was, who I was with, and what I was doing when these 3 games were played, and I will never forget how nasty and fierce the games were.

So, with all that said, NO. I do not have a Modano, Chelios, Richter, Leetch, Tkachuk, LeClair, Otto, Hull, Guerin, Weight, Amonte, Lafontaine, Deadmarsh, Housley, Suter, Hatcher, etc gamer, but I have the next best thing in my opinion. It's a 1996 Team USA WJC gamer of Mike McBain, yes, Michael McBain who was born in Kimberly, BC Canada but played for the USA WJC U20 team in 1995/96 and 1996/97. And yes, the same Mike McBain who I consider to be "scum of the earth" for his criminal acts. It took me a very long time to set aside how I felt about this POS, and this jersey has been up for sale for a long LONG time. I think a lot of people refused to buy it because of Mike's criminal past, and even though I think the guy is garbage, I finally gave in and bought it for what it was. It was a jersey worn in competition representing my home country, it is a beautiful design that I love, and it is absolutely destroyed with wear and blood. I have never seen this much DNA on a jersey, I'm not joking, you can tell it was washed multiple times and the blood soaked through the jersey in some spots changing it from white to an orangeish/cream color. It's hard to see in the pictures, some of the blood stains are still there, but if you saw it in person you would see the entire front left chest, shoulder, and arm is discolored from blood. At least 25% of the jersey overall is like this, pretty nasty in some regards, but it truly shows the war this thing was obviously in. The fight strap has been cut out for some reason, trying to do some research to find out if this was normal for the WJC jerseys. Very rarely do you find jerseys that exhibit wear like this anymore, so putting aside who wore it, it is a beautiful example of just how nasty this game can be and what the players put their bodies through to play for their country & team. Sorry for the long winded read, here is the jersey:

There you go, I have a couple more coming soon. And again, if you have any USA gamers, or know someone who has one, please let me know. This is our main focus/collection and we are always looking to add to the closet. Thanks

Nice pick ups! That is probably the best style of jersey America has ever worn. It's a shame that it's a Mike McBain one though. That would certainly be a conundrum. I'm glad to see that you've been able to separate the man from the jersey though.
