Well... was able to make this years fall expo for the Saturday. Arrived around noon with my son in tow after promising him he could come if he scored in his game earlier that morning. Well I guess he really wanted to come, cause he scored 4!!!. Anyways, as soon as we got there, we started to go down the alleys to see who had the cheapest box prices as I really wanted to do the box breaks. Made it to the score box wars for 1 o'clock... we we both received a free pack of special inserts. The goal was to get a goalie snow globe. Didn't get one for the major prize, but my son got a Tavares and received an extra pack... see below for what he pulled.

We then headed over to the dreaded UD line for their priority signings give away. An hour and 20 minutes later, we finally got our chance to bust our boxes. Mine had all duds of course, but my son pulled a HAll YG and a Doughty exclusives from his box /100. Jerseys were blah... Hopefully they will take a page from Panini and find a better way to do their box breaks AN HOUR AND 20 MINUTES IN LINE WITH A SEVEN YEAR OLD IS LUDICROUS!!! Never waited more that 5 minutes at Panini. You would think after doing the expo for more that 10 years now, they would find a better solution!!

While waiting for the UD break, my son notices in the games area a flock of kids playing this card game. Fell in love with it. Played for a good portion of the afternoon which hampered my possibilities of grabbing the only card I made my way there for... A Stamkos SPA auto rc. When I was finally able to begin my search, a was met with a SOLD OUT, DON'T HAVE ANY, and what not from every dealer. Finally found one, but the guy wouldn't budge from 225$. Missed out on another for 150$ that supposedly was sold about 30 minutes before I inquired. Went to a HI dealer from another board where he said he had three of them which he sold 2 on Friday fro 140 and one saturday morning for 150$... So, wasted trip in that respect, but decided to do the Certified box wars at 4pm, which had an awesome Luongo pull. As the time was nearing the end, noticed that there was another score box wars at 5pm. Decided to grab another two fo my son and myself, but had to pay 35$ each as they were getting scarce... so scarce, that there were only 7 of uis for the box wars (great odds)... Well as it turns out, the box that had the most Leafs was the winner, and low and behold, my good luck charm... of course won.

I have to admit that the folks at Panini were awesome for my son. Noticed he was an avid hockey fan and card fan and took real good care of him!!!

UD rep also noticed that our last name was Lemieux and came around to find him to give him a special card. Props to him. :)

All in all a good day and a good haul. See scans below

The Luongo is just a beauty /10 and the scan really doesn't do it justice.

My sons haul... which aren't for trade as they are a momento from a great experience for him

Got the Hamill form his extra pack for the Tavares snow globe.

Got the Seguin in a bonus pack for the certified break.

Got the Gustavasson 1/1 for his win in the Score Box wars.

The Lemieux ITG VIP was given by the UD rep

He pulled the Duchene from his UD box break

And the Lemieux jersey was given to him by (Bruce) just because... well he's a great guy

Thanks for the look and taking the time to read.

Sounds like you made out well from your trip. You might not have landed the one card you were there for but by the looks of things you more than made up for it.

The look on your son's face when I handed him that jersey card was priceless... worth 10x what a card like that would sell for. Made my day, to be honest :)

Great story - glad to hear your son had an excellent time!

I have to ask though - did I read correctly? An Upper Deck rep gave your son an ITG card? That's pretty strange...

i think UD needs to take notes from Panini if the lines are that long....
