Upstanding Member,
Because SOME Linden collectors (Not naming names) put 15 cards into their Top 10 this year, I'm going to do a Top 10 with 10 cards (11 scans tho - DEAL with it)
#10 2012/13 ITG Enforcers Duel Tough Patch (w. Brendon Witt) 1/1
- This was the toughest card to add to the list, even on release I considered it a less desirable card. Trevor Linden isn't/wasn't anything close to an enforcer, and I didn't/don't see how he fits into the set. Doing some research to the pairing, I took a look at hockeyfights, and didn't see a fight between the two and kinda pish-poshed this card. Brett dug a bit deeper doing some research and found the shoving match that Linden/Witt had was on Jan 19, 2002.

Said shoving match resulted in no penalties - http://scores.espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=220119023
- Sadly, with the card not really "fitting" and the Witt being a spectacular patch and the Linden being just "okay" , It doesn't feel like it deserves to rate much higher. {That being said, a Linden/Jeff Norton would be top 2}
#9 and #8 2013/14 Panini Prime Numbersakes /25
- Again, another card that was bit tougher to add to the list as it was seemed a few small steps away from excellent. Shown in the black skate/puck uniform but with numbers from the Orca uniform. Make those match, and it's phenomenal and in the top 5.
#7 2012/13 Upper Deck The Cup Gold Patch 07/10
- I'm a sucker for any card that uses the Canucks older jersey. Despite not being pictured on the card [as above], I'm still pretty happy to see those colours.
#6 2014 Upper Deck Fall Expo Retro YG
- apparently, I like kvetching (sorry) as the first thing I noticed about this card is that despite his rookie year being the 88-89 season, UD used a photo from the 91-92 (year 4) season. Still a great looking card and unlike cards #7-10, for some reason, I'm able to ignore that aspect a bit easier.
#5 2013/14 ITG Stickworks Stick Rack Dual Gold (w. Bure) 1/1
- I know some Canuck fans on the board will not be thrilled with this card making the Top 10 due to who shares the card with El Presidente, but with so many good memories associated with the 1994 team, having these two on this card does make it pretty special to me.
#4 2013/14 ITG Stickworks Stick Rack Quad Gold (w. Bure/Sedin/Sedin) 1/1
- I bleed blue/green/white, err orange/red/yellow, err black/red/yellow/white, err nevermind. As a lifelong Canuck fan having these four players on this one card showing 4 of the greatest 6 Canucks forwards make this a welcome addition to the PC. [Smyl and Naslund are the other two]
Before I hit my top 3, I should point out that if you're adding those 6 cards as cards #10-15 in your Top 10 list, it's REALLY REALLY impressive, so I'm not really giving Brett a hard time about not stopping at 10. From the same set, here's my #3.
#3 2013/14 ITG Used Memorabilia and Autograph 1/1
- the only CANUCK based 1/1 from ITG Used, I decided pretty early that this was going to be the a card I chased fairly hard from ITG Used and I was lucky enough to land it.
#2 2004/05 Upper Deck High Gloss Glossy /10
- I was quite pleased to cross this off my wantlist in 2014. From a greatly under opened product, I have only seen a couple of these since release and was thrilled to get it. Hopefully, I can find the Gold /5 as well.
#1 2012/13 Panini Limited Back to the Future (w. Kassian) 016/199
- I think we've established that I do like chasing serial numbers, and getting this one as a thank you/gift/pay me back later was appreciated. For the kindness associated with this card, it is easily #1 for the year.
Thanks for the read and enjoy collecting in 2015!
