Verified Trader,
Hey Guys,
A few weeks ago I was browsing COMC for my PC guys, and like I always do, I checked out what wrestling autographs were for sale. Expecting to see the same old TNA guys, I saw a bunch of new ones that i'd never seen. Fresh autos of guys like Neville, Rollins, Zayn, Ambrose , etc. etc. After a little research, I made an impulse purchase. This impulse purchase saw me buy my very first case of cards, and the most i've ever spent in the hobby in one sitting. WWE Undisputed is that case, and it sucked me right in.
I've watched wrestling since I was a kid, and it's always been my main sporting interest. I hear this all the time, "Yeah, I used to watch it as a kid, those were the good times". Many of those people are still closet fans, and love to come chat when they hear that Vinny Mac returned to RAW, or when Taker is facing Brock yet again. Those people have every right to do what they want, but personally I have no problem saying that I love pro wrestling and have no shame in talking about it.
With that said, my collecting habits haven't necessarily reflected those interests as i've collected mostly hockey my entire life. Hockey has grown stale for me, and my basketball collecting is basically a waiting game for cards to pop up. Those factors, plus my impulse case of Indisputed has me focusing more on my wrestling collection. I've added items here and there for the last few years, and i'm very excited to keep adding in the future. I don't have the most high end collection, but i'm very happy with it.

After seeing this thread, and discussing wrestling over twitter with him for a bit, I decided to make a thread of my own. It's time for me to show off what i've got in my collection, and hope you guys enjoy the show!

Some of you may know him as a manager, some as a ref, but to me, Teddy Long is THE GENERAL MANAGER of SMACKDOWN. As a teen, his prancing and dancing was hilarious. Yeah, he loved his tag team, and triple threat matches a bit too much, but he was still the man. Bought this card on eBay years ago, and it makes me laugh every time I look at it.

Most of my memories of Curt Hennig are from my dad's stories. I was born in 1991, so I was way too young to enjoy what he did most of his career. Sure, I see stuff on the Network, and on Youtube, but it's not the same. I respect everything he did, and wish I couldn't watched him at his best. Adding his autograph was huge!

The very first time I saw AJ, I was in love haha. I was able to see her (WWE) career pretty much from start to finish, which is pretty cool. Snagged this one up on WWE Shop a few years ago for pretty cheap, so i'm happy with it.

From AJ Lee to Mr.AJ Lee. I wasn't a HUGE CM Punk fan, but I really did enjoy his work. I missed most of his early WWE stuff on the ECW brand as I wasn't actively watching for 2-3 years. I did get back in time for his 'Summer of Punk' which was a lot of fun. My dad really enjoyed watching him too, which I found interesting. My dad is a mid 50's Portuguese immigrant who barely speaks english, so anyone that he likes, I can't help but cheer too. It's a weird dynamic ha.

Same as Hennig, I never really got to enjoy Macho Man is his prime. I got a second hand taste. I was able to see some of his later WCW stuff (the same time period as the card), but it's not really the same. His promos are legendary, and I watch those as much as I can. He also has a friend in my collection:

A very sleepy version of me met Hacksaw a few years ago at the Toronto Expo. He was very nice, and super happy to talk to fans. Same as the others, i know him from his later years, mostly from guest appearances. With that said, he's a legend, and it was fantastic to meet him.

I don't really have to say much above the Undertaker, as everyone knows what he's all about. I've been able to grow up watching him, and still have the pleasure of watching him today. I'm going to Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas, so hopefully i'll be there for his final match! Got this autograph in my pre-order of WWE 2K14 for PS3, he doesn't sign much and I wanted the game. WIN/WIN.

Same as Hacksaw, I met Tatanka here in Toronto a few years ago. He was also super nice! That strap was heavy as sh*t, it's a good thing he's jacked, so it's probably nothing for him. Great guy.

I met Bischoff last year during the Royal Rumble weekend. Myself and few buddies from work made the trip to Philly, and attended his 'Monday Night Wars' debate with Bruce Pritchard. Jericho hosted the debate, so it was a cool environment, and a highly entertaining show. Like everyone so far, he was nice to everyone and thanks us for coming.

Picked this one up from WWEShop a little while ago as well. Zayn is probably my second favourite wrestler in WWE, so grabbing this one was a must. I'm very excited to see what's in his future, I wish him the very best. He's a Canadian boy too!

Cesaro is my favourite wrestler on the planet. He's so smooth, and just a pleasure to watch. I was so pumped when he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, so I had to get this plaque. He's injured right now, but hopefully he'll be back in time for Wrestlemania, I want to see him in person again.

I've always been a WWE guy my whole life, but after attending an ROH show in January, i've really enjoyed their product as well. I've gone to a few other shows since, and they're probably the best bang for your back for a wrestling show. You may know him from Ring of Honor, but I met Dalton Castle at a 'Smash Wresting' event here in Toronto a few months back. He was super entertaining, and even better in dealing with fans at his table. He enjoyed my beard:

I absolutely LOVE Scott Steiner. The man is mental, and just so damn entertaining. If you've never watched a 'Steinermania' please do so now. This card is actually a 1/1, but the Genetic Freak inscription made me get it. I have his WCW auto, but this one makes me laugh every time I see it.

Everyone has their own opinion on Benoit. I can't speak for the human he was, but he was a phenomenal wrestler. I was looking to add one of these for a long time, and finally did so last year. Very happy to have this card in my collection.

Shinsuke Nakamura may be the most famous wrestler on the planet outside of WWE. My friend from work is a huge fan of his, so when we went to ROH/NJPW's Global Wars here in Toronto we already knew who we were going to get pictures with. I actually got pics with him both days, but this is the better one. Nice, and quiet guy. Awesome wrestler obviously.

As a kid, the Hardy Boyz were THE tag team. I loved everything about them, charismatic, highly flying, LITA, they were everything I wanted to be haha. With that said, everyone loved Jeff, and Matt Hardy was just kinda there. I had the oppurtunity to get this shirt from Matt Hardy's website a few years ago. It was worn in a match (by him) on Smackdown against his brother Jeff, which he even included a link of, in the listing. If for some reason it wasn't actually ring worn, it would be Matt Hardy lying to me straight from his mouth, so I can accept that. I'm not a huge fan of the inscriptions that he added, but i'm still really happy to own this piece of history. I wanted one of those shirts as a kid, and now I have one.

Just like Sasha, this one doesn't need much explaining. I was so sad when he passed away, as he was the first big pro wrestling death in my life. Yes, others went, including OWen; but I wasn't old enough to understand fully. I was a big fan of his, so I made it my mission to grab one of these cards. I'll never let it go, and i'm so thankfully that I got to watch him live in '04.

Yep, a bizarre one for sure.
Mick Foley was raising money for the charity 'RAINN' a few years ago by selling a bunch of his personal belongings. I remember he sold some shirts, pictures, and a bunch of other stuff, but this one I found to be the most oddball. With that logic, I bid on it and won. I am the proud owner of a 1997 White Water theme park ID card of Mick Foley. Woot.

This one might baffle a few people lol. I met Ricky Johnson when I was a child at a show for 'CWA' here in Toronto. Like I mentioned, I LOVED wrestling and when a bunch of wrestlers came to the rec centre that I always hung out in, I was super pumped!I met a bunch of wrestlers that day, no real big names, but it's a show that I can't ever forget. 'The People's Uncle' was awesome, and we took a ton of pictures with him.

That's me and my sister, we were very happy that day!

Take care!
