my UD Replacement / not so good

I ask Upper Deck for a Replacement for my 4 cards. (i waiting over 2 years for 1 of this cards)

after 2 years Upper Deck posted for the OPC (Card not produced.)
that is nice, for a player collector (Yan Stastny)

yesterday, I received my replacement

I find the replacement not fair, Ovechkin (BV $ 100 not limited) for Murpy (BV $ 60 and /15) and dual sign of time (BV $ 25)

and for my 2 opc cards I think that I got the sign of times 5

I send Upper Deck my complete wantlist and gives the name of 5 player (I want on card auto)

so the sign of times is not from my wantlist and the 5 players are not the 5 players which I have called (and the auto not on card / I hate sticker auto)


Result: Upper Deck is **** and ITG is better :badmood:
 
You didn't do that bad sp authentic is worth way more than opc premier, also thi years spa it's very rare to find an auto card with more than 2 autos, watched 4 cases and not anything higher than a dual, so a five is pretty good. The five will probally net you over $400 while your 2 quads you sent in would probally go for $150-200 a piece so that is even. The ove auto will sell for way more for what it replaced

BUT this makes me pissed off at UD--- THANKS FOR INCLUDING ALL THE SOTT MULTI CARDS IN THE SP AUTHENTIC PACK OUT JERKS!!
 
when Upper Deck send sign of times card (from this year) as replacement card, is that not ok for spa box breakers

When I look at the cards on Ebay, I am lucky if I get $ 200 for it. This is not even half what I have paid for my two OPC.

I think sticker auto make the price low.
 
I would be dissapointed too, you didnt get anything for your player collections with the replacements. It is not always about the money, the Ovy and 5 auto are nice cards but to someone who does not collect any of those guys the cards mean nothing. Here is to hoping that you can trade (or sell) those replacements in order to get something you want for your collection.

I wrote to Upper Deck.
I want on card auto or a patch card with more as one color. OR CARD FROM MY WANTLIST.

Here is my wantlist, I think the list is not exactly short. (complete site, all 3 entries)

And that makes me angry, that I did not get any card from my Wantlist.

Ovy auto ist ok!!! (but is not limited)

but the other card, is a good joke
 
why the f is upperdeck giving out this years sott 5 player to boot. why are these not in the packs. wtf is going on this is crap. how do you give out a 5 player sott when they should be in the packs. upperdeck is nothing but scheisters. Bring on panini.

As it's been explained time and time again, there are several reasons cards like this would end up back in the hands of UD's CS team. I would suspect in this situation, given that the product is so new, that this came out of one of their QC case breaks. Yes, they actually crack a few cases of each product when it gets back from the company that packs it up for them. They QC the collation by OPENING some of the product. Any cards they pull go straight into the replacement pile. They don't hold back all the good hits to do with as they please.

For crying out loud people, this is the first and only replacement card we've sen from this year's product. ONE CARD, and people are flipping out. Get a grip.
 
Wow, I agree that is pretty weak. Nice to see they took the time to make sure the stickers were all on straight, too!
 
I gotta agree with canucksfreak19, I think you did okay.

The two OPCP quads you replaced would have MAYBE sold for $100 each (I sold a quad Staal brothers/Esposito brothers and only got $150, and the Stastnys don't sell as well as the Espositos) and the SOTT 5 auto would sell for at least $200, IMHO.

As for the Ovechkin, it's not terribly limited, but they sent you a hard-signed auto of a player you requested and frankly, the sell value of the Ovy dwarfs the sell value of the Murphy and Kopecky/Filppula combined.

And call me a cynic, but isn't this a case of unwarranted expectations? You're asking for replacement gold (Gretzky, Crosby, Ovechkin, Yzerman, etc.) when you've redeemed silver (a bunch of B-C level guys). I understand how great those cards you redeemed would have been in your player collection(s), but you've gotta be realistic with what you're looking for in a replacement.

No offense, but you can't expect UD to replace Filppula and Yan Stastny with multicolor, hard-signed Gretzky and Crosby patches...be glad you at least got the Ovy and move along.

Your wantlist contains very specific cards from certain sets. The chances of UD having either the time or the cards available to fill your specific needs were miniscule.

I don't blame you for trying to get a need filled, but again, it's no more realistic to expect them to sift through their entire stock of replacement cards to try to find a single 07-08 Sweet Spot card than it is to expect the multicolor Gretzky patch/auto.

Considering some of the replacements I've seen (and the complete lack of regard for those folks' wants), I maintain that you should be happy with the Ovy, flip the 5 auto and buy cards that will fit your PC better.
 
Simple solution stop buying redemption cards or if you pull them sell them. I hate redemption cards almost as much as I hate sticker auto's. I avoid both especially redemption cards.
 
the sticker autos on that 5 make that card look absolutely ugly.
with that being said, i think UD was more then fair here, you killed on the ovechkin for scrubs deal, i dont care if that murphy was /15, its still larry murphy.
and the 5 auto at least has young collectable players who can catch a decent dollar on feebay.
not getting what you asked for blows..but this is far from being given the shaft by upper deck.
