Well

If this don't beat all....

According to the fine folk over at TSN.CA

In support of its initiatives across Canada, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) today announced the creation of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Scheduled to launch in May 2007, the series includes a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Canadian Tire - an iconic Canadian brand with strong national presence.

The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series will operate nationally in Canada with a schedule of 10-12 races (May-October). The series will provide new racing opportunities for teams and drivers from the former CASCAR series. The official NASCAR Canadian Tire Series schedule, point fund and tracks will be announced at a later date.

Although I'm remiss to see CASCAR die, this should be better for the fans in the long run... :cool:

Go CASCAR

C'mon Josh...

It's going to be called 'NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.....' ;) Cause with NASCAR coming up north. Alas CASCAR is no more.... :( LOL!

It will be nice to see this series run. Myself, I won't miss the Cascar series at all. Most weekends I'd rather have been watching the street stocks or thunderstock series run.
I think if they are moving up here to run, they will watch things very closely to keep it competitive and fun to watch. With any luck, the big series will come up for a race or two as well. (Better be in Western Canada too, not just down east!)

I'd have to agree with you on this. Seein' as NASCAR should have a vested interest in ensuring this runs smoothly;

Can't see it happening in the near future.... However, stranger things have occurred! ;)
