Nathan MacKinnon has positioned himself as the next superstar in hockey. With the escalating values placed on RC's, especially from Cup and Dominion, and with him all but guaranteed to go to Colorado or Florida, the patch RC's will assuredly have multi-colors. Is it possible a MacKinnon 4+ color patch #/99 could be sold for $10,000+ upon release?

Who knows. Look at the insanity Strasburg caused in the baseball world.

These days.......anything is possible.

He has to go to Colorado, otherwise it's game over. Mackinnon on the Panthers is worse than Tavares on the Islanders in terms of sustainable hobby love.

There's no way he's going to Colorado unless Colorado trades down to 2 or 3 and somehow also trades one of their kajillion centers to get the other 2 or 3 pick. (Duchene, Stastny, O'Reilly, etc.)

And even then, it would be an incredibly bad hockey move as Jones is #1 and Jones is what they need. They are uber-fortunate that the BPA, MVPA and greatest need is at the pick they have.

Let's not forget Patrick Roy will have a huge influence on the Avalanche roster moving forward, he likes MacKinnon and has seen first hand what he is capable of on many occasions in the QMJHL. Jones may be #1 on paper but MacKinnon stepped up big time in the Memorial Cup and Jones played well but wasn't on Nate's level when it counted.

hardly possible

just simply because this is not like the basketball market

but, an Andrew Wiggins Exquisite ARP can hit 10k in 2014-15

if you dont know who he is, google it

Agreed 100%. Plus the story of Jones dad asking Joe Sakic about what he should do with his son that wants to play hockey over basketball fits in nicely here.

We can't trade O'Reilly for most of the season, but Stastny could finally be moved if he doesn't build on his strong WC performance.

I also think Cole's wallet would appreciate Jones over MacKinnon. :owned:

Remember you heard it here first, watch out for Barkov.

He might just crack the Top 3 depending on trades.

Hard-signed autographs will be in 2013 Draft Prospects (shameless plug).

I think that Nathan MacKinnon goes #1.

Yes, Seth Jones is the bigger franchise need but MacKinnon is the best player in the draft.

When you are picking first overall you always should pick the best player in the draft. Period.

A lot of people have him going #4. I just don't see him cracking the Top 3 though with MacKinnon, Jones and Drouin available in those spots.
