I'm not a player collector like most. I am cut from old fabric and love putting together sets. When Panini released National Treasures in the summer of 2014, I like many others were instantaneously grabbed by the Buried Treasure Autograph set. Given the scarcity (all cards are out of 10, with 4 players out of only 5), I assumed the likelihood of putting it together would be pretty slim, but I decided to give it a go. I was lucky enough to acquire two of the SP cards, Crosby and Howe pretty soon after release. I thought they would be VERY hard to come by down the road, so when the opportunity arose to acquire them, I had to jump. There were a few others that I definitely had to stretch to get, the Toews and Yzerman (/5) come to mind. For the last six months or so I had been down to just about 6 cards. Slowly but surely I started picking them off, many at what I considered to be reasonable prices. Finally I was down to just two. Marc-Andre Fleury and Jonathan Quick. MAF was a live card, and Quick is a redemption. In my Ebay feed the MAF finally appeared. I loaded up the snipe and got the card at again what I considered to be a steal. If everything goes as expected, a member here has already agreed to part with one of their Quick redemptions should he ever sign. But I don't know if that's going to happen, so I wanted to show off the "completed" set as it currently stands with the MAF coming in today. I'm really hoping that Panini either says they are or are not going to get the card made because I plan on framing this set in some way and without the last card, it will be a PITA. Enough blabbing, here are a couple of quick phone pics of the set. Thanks for reading my waxing nostalgic about what I think is one of the prettier and more innovative sets I've seen since getting back into the hobby several years ago. Thanks to everyone here that either sold me a card or pointed me in the direction of one.

Quick note, the Brodeur WILL be extricated from his BGS tomb before framing takes place.

Outstanding set! I personally think it's one of the finest sets put together in the last few years. Makes me wish Panini was still in the game as they certainly made a believer out of me. :) -Mike

Wow, now that's one gorgeous set! Can't wait to see what it looks like all nicely framed.

Hopefully you can get resolution one way or the other on the Quick - these aren't even my cards and I'm uber-annoyed with the whole redemption thing on your behalf! I highly doubt Panini is spending any effort trying to track down the Quick cards or really have any clue where they are, yet I doubt they'll ever officially declare them MIA and remove them from the checklist either. IMO there should be an expiry date - after 2 years if they haven't been redeemed they should be removed from the checklist so set collectors can move on.

One of if not the best non game-used sets ever made, I only collect game used stuff and this set has always made me want to stray from "Just game-used".

I honestly never thought I would see a completed set of this so I am quite amazed that you were able to accomplish this.
