NBA Finals Thread!!!!

I think the hunger to win for Garnett, Pierce and Allen will win this series. Kobe has a few rings so his hunger isn't the same. Kobe wants to prove that he can win without Shaq but I don't think he has the sane disire as a Garnett do (right now).

I guess this is a dream matchup for the NBA....its equal to the Leafs-Canadiens to the NHL.

True enough Rob on the Bird/Magic mathcups. Man, that was when the NBA was great............

So first SA and now Boston? Rob, your cards got lost in the mail.:p
 
I see the Celtics winning this series in no more than 5. Truthfully, I see Detroit as a better, more physical team than LA and Boston will have a distinct advantage. The X-Factor for LA stretching the series is Odom. Boston's team D can handle Kobe and Pau, but will Odom come through if/when Kobe and Pau are struggling.
 
Depends on the age of the fans. Most younger fans think that Garnett and Kobe are better then Bird and Magic. The older collectors know the difference but pop over to beckett and read some basketball post, you will see what I mean real fast. Of course there isn't the same rivalry as it was back then but as for players its still a great matchup.

I can't say it was the best I've ever seen, some of those old Lakers/Celtics, Lakers/Pistons, Bulls/Whoever were better IMO.

As far as recent memory, yes, it was a terrific game, I am just obviously upset the Lakers lost.:rolleyes:

But I'll Boston it's due, they played airtight d on Kobe, made him force up some bad shots. On the other end PP and KG were awesome.

Hope it goes 6 or 7. :dance:
 
Well it was one of the best final games I have seen, there's a little age cap between us, yes I have seen the old finals game between celtics/lakers, but not as they were happening "live", that's what I meant by that.

And yes some of the Bulls games where awesome as well, I can remember those!!!

Come on did you really think that the Lakers would walk into Boston and whoop that *** the first game? I don't think so!!!

No, honestly I didn't, not after how Boston played against Detorit. But I think after taking the Spurs apart the Lakers might be better prepared for this series then if SA won the West. Game 2 is HUGE for LA. They MUST win.
