It's #1 seed Denver vs #2 seed Minnesota-Duluth.

Denver is a hockey powerhouse, 7 Collegiate Championships, 16 Frozen Four appearances.

They also have the newly minted Hobey Baker award winner, Will Butcher. The last d man to win it, Matt Carle, also from Denver, turned into a solid NHL d-man.

Minnesota-Duluth really shut down Harvard and their fast paced offense, something Denver is noted for.

NCAA hockey is growing each year into a solid source of great NHLers. It'll never be on a par with Canadian junior leagues but it has come a long way. Should be a heckuva match.

Denver played well the first 2 periods. UMD poured it on in the 3rd period. Glad it was in Chicago. I was able to attend and have a greater appreciation of NCAA Hockey now.
