Need help - 1993-94 Stadium Club

Hi,

as some of you might know, I am a Quebec Nordiques cards collector. Right now, I have about 2000 Nords cards in my collection.

Right now, I have difficulty with the 1993-94 Stadium Club OPC Parallel.
I bouth a OPC Parallel of Joe Sakic (#32 in the set) recently on the Beckett Marketplace. When the card came in, I realized it looks exactly like the regular version of the card. What's the catch? How do you tell the difference between the regular version and the OPC parallel version (I looked on the Net and search in the Beckett annual, but found no answer...)

Look on the back of the card. If the term "PTD. in the U.S.A" follows the copyright information, it is the OPC version.

I would like to get more information on this.

A few years ago I came across this "parallel". I was told that one was a Canadian version and one was an American. I was given the same information on distinguishing the two (the copyright date and the PTD in the USA type). I have searched for years trying to find two of the same card with this discrepancy. I have yet to find one. I was told that the series I cards were one version and the Series II cards were the other.

Could anyone shed more light on this. And if anyone has cards of the same player showing this parallel, I would greatly appreciate seeing a scan of the two.

The 1993-94 Stadium Issue has five total versions.
The USA issue is a 500-card set.

There is a 500-card parallel "First Day of Issue" set with a silver foil stamp on the front.

There is a Members Only 500-card set with "Topps Stadium Club Members Only" printed on the front.

There is a 250-card OPC version. The ONLY way to tell the difference is these carry the "PTD IN USA" on the back after the copyright information.

The OPC issues are for the FIRST SERIES (cards 1-250) only. There are no OPC versions for series two (251-500)

If anyone has them, I am still looking for three of the USA First Day Parallels. Check link below for the list.

Like Bamlinden, I have yet to find the same Stadium Club First Serie base card with AND without the PTD IN USA. I have like ten different first serie card with the PTD IN USA tag on the back, but only one or two without it, wich tend to confirm the Scottsdale explanations.

The only thing I can say, is that I have a hard time getting by all the parallel versions of this set. Espcially the First Day Issue.

That would explain why the Linden I have been looking for (card #357) has been a tough find....it doesn't exist.

I guess I'm lucky all four I need are in Series 2. I still need the First Day Issue of Jeff Shantz #347 and Adam Foote #496 though. At least I don't have to track down the OPC version as well.
