Hi everyone, this is an unusual request but please bear with me. It's not hockey or card related, but it has to do with being a sports fan so I figured this would be a good place to start. Benjamin Moore paints has recently released "The Fenway Collection" of Boston Red Sox themed paint colours:

My girlfriend is a Sox fan and it would be really cool to be able to paint her half of our future Unisex Sports Cave in Green Monster paint. Understandably, the paint is only available in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut. Being in London, Ontario, it would be just a little too crazy to make the 8.5 hour drive to Burlington, Vermont to buy paint, so that's why I'm here to ask a huge favour of a New England HI member.

My idea would be to send someone the money to buy a gallon or two of the Green Monster paint for me. As it would probably be insanely expensive to ship paint (can you even send a can of paint across the border?) I'm thinking a meet up would be the best option. Perhaps at the Fall Expo in Toronto, or even a big card show in Western New York. I'd pay the money up front and would of course pass along something for your trouble.

So, that's where I'm at. If you've made it this far, I thank you for reading. If anyone can help out, please let me know. Or, if anyone has a better idea on getting this paint, I'd be interested in that as well.

Thanks and take care!

Ask someone to get you a paint sample of what you want and have your local Home Depot or other color match it? Or is the can important?

Pacman

Most paints have a number code, you could probably make a call for the code, and take that to your local paint store and see what they come up with. Similar with what Pacman69 said.

The can would be pretty cool too, but from what I understand the shade of green is trademarked by the Red Sox and isn't available otherwise. I could be wrong though. I should look into colour matching. Thanks!

Interesting idea. I wonder though...COULD your local Benjamin Moore feasibly do this for you since the company has the distribution license? Hit up their social media teams because I have a feeling it's something they could probably get done. It's not even an unreasonable request by any means.

Ah, see this is why I love this site. My initial thought is to drive 8 and a half hours to the paint when a more reasonable person suggests getting the paint to come to me. Thanks! Great idea!

No problem but...sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do for love though!

:D

Some day I'll be telling my daughter the story of the time I nearly drove 6 hours each way to buy her mom beads from a giant store in the US before I just discovered online shopping and shipping to my aunt's PO Box in the US would save me the trip....

...Then I'll tell her how her mom never made anything with those beads

I guess I must be the only one who read the original post and thought 'ROAD TRIP!!!!!!'

:D

Making such an 'iconic' shade of paint available is an absolute brilliant idea. Kind of strange they only made it available in New England though.

Ha ha, a road trip would be awesome, but the border guards might find my reason for entering America dubious.
It kind of makes sense to limit it to New England in some regards, but then on the other hand there are Sox fans across North America. Seems like they could made some good money!
