I've been doing VERY little hockey since the strike a few years ago (just picking up an odd HOF'er auto here and there) but have kind of kept up w/things...I have a question...a good buddy of mine bought a 3-pack mini-case to break (he has another 3 box and a 6-box case sealed and put up)...he pulled a Gilbert Brule Auto Press Plate #'d 1/1 out of one box (he got it and a Kovalchuk Cup press plate (Yellow) #'d 1/1 from same pack...I don't remember the color of the plate (THINK it's black but don't hold me to it) but I know for sure it's a plate rc from "The Cup" (not spx or beehive but the Cup card). He's not attached to it (he's just shooting for a Crosby or Ovechkin) and I'm trying to figure out a value for it to obtain it for him (I'll be able to work some of it off because I list a large quantity of his cards on ebay for him and I get cards in return) but I know this is THE board (from my previous dealings/trades on here) with the Hockey experts. What would be an approximate value (or some past $$ on some of the other plates of his) for it....I know what his "The Cup" patch auto rc's book and approximately sell for but I have NO IDEA on this card...I've sold some of his other printing plate rc's previously (the best being a Jeff Carter rc plate, NON-auto) but nothing like this. I know it's a great card though (and if I can get it, it's going into my PC). Any help on this would be appreciated ASAP.
