This is a very legitimate issue. From the "Did you know..." pile:
The salary floor from 2008-09 is already higher than the salary cap of 2005-06.
This is one reason why the small market teams are again getting clobbered. Sure, some of the locations have changed (Phoenix is the new Pittsburgh), but it's hitting them hard.
I don't want to hijack the thread with a side discussion, but while the absence of a season created a salary cap, the impact is already lost.
