New Orleans Hornets to change name to Pelicans....

Well at least it's in keeping with the state bird of Louisiana. Can't fault them on that choice.
 
Everyone in the league is laffing at it. I;d have to say, i cant find that team name the least bit interesting or intimidating
 
I personally wanted to see them be called the Rougarou. At least that is more appealing then the pelicans.

No fear at all in that name or background, outside of being the state bird it has no meaning.

So what would you team be called if it where the state bird?

Mine...the Philadelphia Ruffed Grouse....I still like 76ers
 
pelicans logo could be cool.. better than cavs, and what is a pacer, is it something you want to be? also knickerbockers, now i realize they have tradition on their side and there home is the meca of basketball but really knickerbockers isnt that a sock. Pull up your knickers and get out there boys.

true say but wasn't the other option the Toronto Hogs? LOLOL.. that woulda been much worse.. cuz we have hogged the basement of the NBA for quite some time now..

The Utah Jazz got their name from their previous location....New Orleans. They moved from there in 79 to now Utah.
