Hey I was on beckett asking this question and I was told you are the guy to see.

A friend of mine (heath23) just bought a BGS 9 Alex Smith SPA patch auto. He got it in the mail today and is unsure if the patch is real or fake. I thought that if it was graded it was gauanteed to be real but I have heard you have found a few bgs graded SPA's to be fake. Any info would be great. here is the auction.

it doesnt look to be fake . i have seen 1 clr smith spa sell for about 30$ less then multicolor ones , so i dont think a seller would risk ruining the card for an extra 30$ with a nicer looking patch .

I vote fake. it does not look like any game used patch I have ever seen. It has a glossy felt look like some one cut it from cloth I see no big stitching like a patch would have.

Thanks
Jacob.

I don't think it looks one bit fake, there is such a thing as glossy/shiny patches cause I have had tons of them with my dirk collection i recently sold.
