Some teams have new or updated looks, and of course the new Golden Knights jersey is officially unveiled.

Some assorted notes/observations:

- Not a fan of the arm striping on the Knights jersey, especially the red. Red just looks so out of place to me especially since there's none in the logo.

- The Avalanche brought back the "mountain range" striping! Considerably nicer than the outgoing RBK jersey, love it.

- The Wild went with an interesting Montreal-style chest stripe on their jersey. I kind of like it.

- I really don't like Edmonton moving to an orange home jersey, should have stayed with blue. They were leaning towards this look prior to Adidas anyway but still.

- The Adidas collar is... Strange looking. It'll probably grow on me though.

- New patch materials used in the crest and numbers to make them lighter. Our patch cards will be a little different in the near future! This includes the new "holo" NHL shield that looks to be made out of plastic. I'll have to see what it looks like in a card.

- Adidas showed some restraint and didn't force their three stripes anywhere on the jersey like a lot of folks feared. Smart move!

Overall, I really like what Adidas has done with the new jerseys. It looks like this changeover is going to be handled much better than the initial RBK Edge changeover ten years ago that saw so many teams change to ugly new templates (piping, piping everywhere!). I want a new Leafs jersey for sure.

What do you guys think?

The numbers and nameplates almost looked ironed on and the crests even look odd.

Icethetics and a couple other jersey design sites have been tweeting out tons of photos since the reveal and the numbers and patches all appear to be sewn on, but they do however use different, sort of light mesh looking materials that are supposedly lighter than the traditional tackle twill we're used to. I think our patch cards will still be "patches" and not ironed-on stuff, thankfully.

Just look to the NBA jerseys - and you'll see how some of the numbers are going to be

Avalanche went from having the worst jerseys (RBK era) to the best once again by adding the mountain range! RBK completely butchered the Avs jerseys.

The new Wild jerseys look amazing.

Love the Hurricanes brought back the squares on the hem and arms!!

I hate that a few teams kept the piping on the arms and sides that RBK introduced several years back: Capitals, Blue Jackets, Kings.

Edmonton and Nashville look awful

New Jersey and San Jose need striping on the hem.

Canucks need to ditch the VANCOUVER text on top of the jersey.

The only thing I don't like is the numbers.

"single layer perforated numbering system" just doesn't sound appealing to me, I loved the double layer we've been seeing. Especially in regards to the Avalanche jersey where their numbers have almost that "icy" look inside of them.

However, that being said...

The new Avs jerseys are awesome. They did a great job with those. I like the jerseys for Vegas too, I think they are sharp. Minnesota's jersey is great too.

Nashville is the worst I think.

Avs won the new jersey look by a landslide. Ugh. Groan.

But they really did.

Vegas looks good except the sleeve with the stripes look a little awkward, the red band seems forced. If I had to bet (more bad puns) I would say they will bring an alternate jersey out at some point featuring their secondary logo from the shoulder of these jerseys. I would guess it will be a red or black jersey for the main color.

Other then that, so much could have been done but it was extremely underwhelming in my opinion. I think some teams should have totally revamped or gone retro, or something.

I am more interested in trying one on, seeing how it fits. That was one of the big transitions from CCM/KOHO to RBK, the new slimmer fit of the jerseys. I wonder how these will will fit and feel.

Honestly, I am uneasy about this whole lightweight material thing. I always loved putting an authentic or game worn jersey on and feeling that weight of the higher quality fabrics and crests when you picked it up as opposed to the cheaper, lighter replicas.

Anyone have an idea of when the new sweaters are going on sale?? It seems I might have a :wild: jersey in my future...

If all things hold from my past working with jerseys - I'd expect it to be not until at least October for the replicas unless Fanatics can kick it into high gear fast enough to have all teams ready. Authentic adidas jerseys will likely be until November as the teams will only have enough supply for Training Camp and the first set of Regular season jerseys. And this was the standard timeline for the 2-3 teams that made changes every year. This is the first mass switchover in a long time - even though the parent company is the same

I wanted to bump this thread because I'm trying to find a place to purchase authentic jerseys since I usually get one for the holidays each year and the current selection on NHL Shop is *incredibly* limited.

Are we still in waiting mode? Are there other sites you can buy them from or has NHL Shop largely cornered the online market?

from what Ive seen the replicas aren't as much replica as they once were....the penguin jerseys here now go by number size like authentics and they also have fight straps.........

The adidas authentic jerseys from what I can tell - sell for as much as the old Reebok Premier jerseys all done up - so they have at least brought the price down on them some

Thanks for the feedback!

From what I've been able to tell, it seems like the Fanatics site has the exact same options as the NHL Shop. At least for the handful of teams that I checked. I reached out to the NHL Shop's official Twitter account and was told "We're going to seek more info on the upcoming jerseys." Hopefully that means it's just a production issue of getting the new Adidas jerseys in and that they might have a bigger selection in time for the holiday season. Other than a star or two on each team, they don't even have customization options available right now.

The jersey that I'm hoping to pick up this year is a Capitals Ovechkin away (white) jersey. I was hoping to have it for a game that I'm attending there in January, but maybe my best bet is to see if I can just find one at the arena.

Edit: The DM Twitter message from NHL shop ended with a promise to look into it and get back to me. I thought "uh huh." But they actually did! Posting their response here.

We will be getting more jerseys in stock in the next few months. we do not have specific times for specific teams/players. There are also customs option for Men’s Adidas Authentic Jerseys.

We are working on adding larger player assortments to each team for our men’s Fanatics branded Breakaway jerseys. This is something that will be a process over the next few months leading into 2018.

Hope this helps!

NHL Shop online is run by Fanatics now - so it's one and the same. If you are looking for it sooner - I would suggest going through the Caps - as they should have the jerseys in stock - or even call the NHL store in NYC.
