NHL shields on jerseys

Would they use a piece of the shield on a memorabilia card numbered #/100? Anything is possible I suppose, and I'm not super familiar with the set or the other pieces of memorabilia used, but that struck me as odd right away.

Not saying it's fake or not (I'm no expert), but it's just something I noticed as soon as I saw this card and would be scared to touch it, personally.

I can not speak of this set in particular but I use to own a couple of cards like this. Both were from the Pacific brand. At the time shields were considered patch material.

I also seem to think that ITG BAP products have done this as well.

Definitely a real card. Shields have been on jerseys since at least the 90s if not earlier (someone can confirm better than I can on a better range of years). The first "shield cards" came in 2003-04 Premier Collection, but shields were used in normal patch cards long before then.

Yeah, I pulled a few patches from Pacific back in the day, they would put full shields, partials, whatever they could

Yeah, I agree with all the above. The late 90's and early 2000's companies didn't differentiate between jersey pieces. I've got cards with nasty 3-4 color patches that are high numbered, or not numbered at all, because they didn't do all the different parallels and such back then..

Upper Deck used the NHL shield for regular patch cards as well. I had a 2005-06 Artifacts Patch card of Jose Theodore that had a piece of the NHL shield in it. I pack pulled the card myself.

Pacific was notorious back in the 2000's for using shields, tags, brand logos and meigray patches on their patch cards. 100% real. I own a few Turco cards like this, an example below from 02-03 Titanium that has part of the Koho tag from his green jersey and a part of the NHL shield on another

EDIT- Here's another from 03-04 Private Stock that has part of the Meigray tagging

Also if someone can help me track down the Turco/Modano dual stick /10 from this set, I'd be forever in debt to you... That's the last Pacific Turco card I am missing
