Not to sound like a homer but if I had to choose which one of these D-men I would build a franchise around I would take Doughty. They guy has been amazing offensively and Defensively all year and the playoffs.

All 3 guys have earned the award. My vote is for Doughty but I think Green wins it because he came in second last year and he was left out of the Olympics.. Voters have long memories.

Has nothing to do with last year or the Olympics. I hope he don't win because of those reason. He did have a fantastic season and is most likely going to win which is great for him for the reasons you mentioned. All three of these have great offensive abilities but Green is the only one that is weak defensively. That will likely hurt him since it is an all around D award.

Cool to see new names instead of just Chara, Lidstrom, Pronger etc... These 3 with Weber, Myers and a few other young D will likely dominate this award for sometime now.

Could make a good case for all three. I wondered mid season, if Doughty's accomplishments were being talked up because he's a sophmore or if he was really that good this soon. After watching him a few games, it's the latter.

Doughty wins by a mile. He is just awesome as a defenseman...ask the Canucks Keith would be my second choice, and Green barely deserves to be on the ballot. Greens' offensive numbers seem to get people thinking he is a great D-man, which isn't the case. He isn't horrible by any means, just not in the same category as the other two.
