If there's no season, they'd be no better than the SPx redemptions of Fleury, Ruutu, Nash, Spezza, and Kovalchuk. It would be the same thing. Redemptions for future rookies that shouldn't be considered rookie cards since they didn't play that season.

I agree they shouldn't get the tag but you never know what beckett will do.

Last I had heard was SP Authentic was being replaced with SP Signature. Just rambling though - nothing definite.

Well since we've got the rumour mill churning, I had heard that UD was buying up tons of old rookie cards from various sets to insert back into certain products. They wouldn't be marked or auto'ed buybacks - more like the Black Diamond program where you could find rookie cards from previous years.

I also heard Richard Simmons was taking over head of production at UD... or was that Gene? Bah, same difference...

Cory heard the same rumor that I did.

I heard they already started buying back things like Kovalchuk SPA rookies and are going to put them back into the product. They were buying them up at the Fall Expo apparently. But like Cory said, they won't be marked as buybacks or anything of the sort - all true rookies.

and then half of em shot looks at me like I was going to run off and tell the pied piper about it, like I somehow gave a crap.

It's not a rumour -- it's fact. Not only was I standing beside Clint Hall when they were talking about it, but buddy from UD traded me for about $700 worth of nice UD rookies from various years -- some nice Nash, Kovalchuk, a couple of SPA signed patches, a few smaller Premier rookies.

If they put them one-per-box it could be a really nice product, especially with the way the nice SPA patches and Premier rookies have been selling lately.

Well, since I was standing in the same vicinity, I knew it was more than a rumour, however, I hate to step out on a limb until UD actually announces that's what's going on, 'cuz heaven knows, they may change their mind... Until I have the product IN MY HAND, it's still a rumour! lol
