Stopped by the pitiful excuse for a show they have around here to look for some '76 Topps BB for my set and some old Kelloggs BB. A guy is there with a bunch of random stuff, and in the back of one row I see "1972-73 Topps hockey". So, I pick up about half of them and the guys says, "Everything in that box is .10 each." Took me about a minute to count them-- 173 total, with not only 72/73, but also 70/71 and 71/72. With those cards going 1.00-1.50 for commons alone, figured I couldn't go wrong. $15 for all. Eighty percent of them are EX or better. Ended up being 83 72/73, including Scoring Ldrs Espo/Orr/Ratelle x2 both NrMt, Bruins Champions card #1 NrMt, Jacques Plante Ex+, Assist Ldrs Orr/Espo/Ratelle Ex++/NrMt, Henderson x2, Cashman, and Cup games 2-6. 45 70/71s yielded Bernie Parent in EX, and 30 71/72s brought the checklist in Ex ($60 BV in NrMt), Assist Ldrs Orr/Espo/Bucyk, Scoring Ldrs Espo/Orr/Bucyk. Twenty or so dupes. All that plus lots of nice minor stars and commons. And a 78/79 Ldrs card Lafleur/Bossy/somebody, can't remember.
Anyway, for those who love a bargain (in my opinion) and have a soft spot for the old stuff, it was a pretty nice pick-up.
Sorry for the long read.
