Olympic torch

I just went and watched the Olympic torch as it passed through our town (St Anthony, NL Canada). Anyone else here take the time to go out and see the Olympic torch as it passed through your town/city?

I have to admit that standing there with my 8 year and watching the torch go pass was very powerful. I am not sure why but I am really glad that we took the time to go watch this once in a lifetime event.

Saw the torch in late 87 on the way to Calgary.

This year... "meh"... I really don't get the "wow" for the Olympics anymore.

The torch is going to my oldest kid's school on the way back across the country, so the wife and kids will get to see it, which I'm sure they'll enjoy.

I saw one on the shelf next to the cigarettes the other night at a convenience store in Dartmouth... took a minute to clue in to what the charred white stick was

I will be going on Dec 23rd as it passes..Also my cousin has been picked to carry it so I really want to see that..
