One Sweet MJ Pickup

I don't often get to post pickups on the basketball board but this card needs to be shown. Before anybody cries "fake," it's headed off to be graded/authenticated, but I used every tool at my disposal and came to the conclusion that it's real. I was able to pick it up from a guy at my LCS after they passed on picking it up because it wasn't authenticated.

1986 Fleer Michael Jordan RC

How much did I pay, you ask?

$45.

Dont usually frequent the basketball boards... but I saw the initials "MJ" and thought Id pop in and have a look.

I think for $45 its well worth a shot. Not knowing basketball at all, what could you expect for it when authenticated?

Nice pick up though, fingers crossed for authenticity.

If this card is merely authenticated, I can probably expect to at least double my investment. And I don't think it will grade more than a PSA 4 or 5, but a PSA 6 just sold for $350, so there's potential for a very nice return. :dance: :dance:

I know how this goes. When I worked at my local card shop we had someone just come in and give us 3 5,000 count boxes full of junk. But lone and behold there was a Jordan Fleer Rookie in there and we too thought well it's a fake. But it came back real and even better it came back an 8 One of those story's I will not forget even though I hate the guy that owns the shop and he always has stuff like this fall in his lap:|

Yeah, I know what you mean, my LCS is getting incredible stuff left and right, especially in this economy. They're paying peanuts for it, too! I've been there a couple of times to pick up items they haven't wanted for authenticity reasons, including an IP Johnny Unitas auto for free! :dance:

I have 2 real ones and one fake. The fake has a slightly different color, almost a slight orange mixed ino the red. My fingers are crossed for you :beer: BTW if it turns out to be real I will buy it for double what you paid
