Got 1 key book in this week but it certainly deserves it's own thread.

Probably the centerpiece to my comic collection now. I present to you....

X-Men #1 (1st appearance of X-Men, Cyclops, Magneto, Professor X, Beast and Angel)

Thanks for looking! Have 2 more Keys arriving- I'm on fiyyaaa :giggity:

very nice!! What is the best grade you have seen of that comic?

An 8.0. The 7.0-8.0 usually get around $10K+.

There's actually a 9.4 listed on ebay right now. I'd venture to guess that's probably $75K if not more.

A beat up 2.0 still gets over $1K. Insane the prices on many Keys.

Holy crap Ernie - that's a nice book - can't believe the prices on those, and to think at one point I was thinking about working on a full run of X-men. Then I decided to waste my money on hockey cards instead.

Very nice pick up...
I'm mostly a DC person (well Vertigo) but it seems most key books of my are Marvel and X-Men too......

Thanks guys! Lovin' the ol' funny books :)

Yup. I'd say most keys are from Marvel that is without a doubt.

I love DC also but in the comic world of Silver Age and Bronze age Marvel just absolitely owns them. Golden age is DC's though what with Batman, Superman, Showcase and Detective Comics, etc.

Even with my extremely little comic knowledge and experience (I have the full run of Married With Children and some Punisher), I do understand the magnitude of this pickup. Congrats Ernie.
