I thought rather than a new thread every month I'd just keep an ongoing monstrosity of a thread for my Eddie hauls. Had some rough times through September with family health, but things have settled down so I thought I'd share the damage for both months. Quite a bit to show here. Have a look and hope you enjoy the show!

Got this through the generosity of another member, which I really appreciated. At first I wasn't sure what to make of it but it's pretty neat in person. Has the Topps Vault seal as well as a COA from Topps. Not sure what the function of this exactly was so maybe someone can help?

After the first one, I couldn't pass this up. It's a front/back set of the Topps card. Again, Topps Vault seal on the cases and the COA included.

The right card is the Mirror Black 1/1.

Some big ones knocked off the checklist with these three!

How nice is that Triple?

Another big one. I think this is my 5th parallel version of this card.

Now I know this one isn't much to look at, but to have a show stamped card pop up that I need is pretty rare so I was actually really excited to score this one for under $10. It was one of the ones on my checklist I figured I'd never cross off.

These 8 came from the same seller overseas. Some really really difficult cards to find as well as some very nice swatches.

One of the Ultimate Signature Six cards I picked up. I scored the /3 and /2 in the same month.

Another really hard card to find. First I have ever seen.

This card was actually a bit of a milestone. It's my 300th Giacomin game-used card.

The other Ultimate Signature Six as well as another instance of a rare show stamped card. Again, another one I figured I would never see.

I had not included the President's Choice cards for my checklist but someone posted a box break from President's Choice and the had been released out in pack form so I added them and promptly snagged the pair.

The PSA is an upgrade of my ungraded copy. My goal is to have all of his vintage regular sized cards in PSA 7 or better. Very close to being done with that portion. Few more to cross off.

Another doozy of a card, really sharp as well.

I had a feeling this card was going to be brutal but I really got lucky on the pricing of this one. GREAT one to add as had I missed this card I probably would never see it again.

These all came in one package deal, very thankful to the seller.

The Ultimate is the French version. Another one that I know won't garner any fanfare but was happy to cross off. It's been a LONG time since I added a PC card for under $3 shipped!

The Signature Sweaters Six is another monster card. /2 so when it showed up I had to go for it.

That's all for this month. Have some time off during Christmas which I'll be using to totally reorganize my collection. Will throw up a new S&T on that if anyone is interested in seeing?

Hope you enjoy the show. I'll continue adding to this thread every month or so with the new additions to my 401K retirement plan, LOL.

Soooo, is the first picture a printing plate or a negative of some sort to the 1977 OPC card?

Pretty cool, regardless.

It's just basically a cardboard negative, or that's what it looks like to me. I'm sure someone on here can educate us on it, hoping so anyway as I'm curious. Previous owner didn't know either.

The same can be asked of the 75/76 Topps ones. The "front" card appears to have the matte surface typical of cards from that era but the "back" card looks like it's almost glossy, certainly more so than the fibrous texture the backs typically had. I didn't want to break the seals and getting a photo of the surface finishes was impossible. Not sure if what I'm saying is making sense. They're neat items though.

There is, or was, a 3 card "color separation" grouping on eBay but no Topps Vault seals or COA so I wasn't sure what to make of those.

So, these all are amazing.

Wow, so much to unpack here it's just so very fun and educational to look at all your stuff the past little while. A little bit of everything!

I think you are bang on with the first Topps card, as it does look like a reverse negative. That is such a cool item that is incredibly rare, I'm sure. It's probably the favourite card in this thread for me due to the extreme coolness factor and it's something you just don't see shown off every day.

Onto the "normal" adds, and the sheer amount of low-numbered cards of every variety in such a short amount of time calls for a job well done. Those show stamps can be so tough years later! Not to mention the variance in modern to vintage cards in this thread, as well.

I'm very much looking forward to your next batch of mail threads!

nice haul as always amigo, although I think you forgot to mention a thank you for the person who scored that overseas grouping for you.

Yeah, I've dug such a hole at this point with not posting as I go - gonna take a long time to get through everything I have now, huh? Need to take a few days off and just upload and post! A true friend would come do that for me...just saying.

Let's show off some more, shall we?

Nice chunk off the Dominion checklist including the Black 1/1.

Those 3 ^^ are BIG pickups, not to mention the Platinum 1/1 Detroit.

Thats all, for now.

Very nice additions to the PC.

I'm really liking the Detroit items. Thanks for the show and congrats.

First and foremost, I hope all is going well or at least much better on the family health side!

Second, pretty awesome haul and great to see that even after what I have no doubt has to be one of, if not the premier Giacommin collection, that you're able to find and add so many cool things.

Great show!

@Chuck: As someone from PA, how did your fandom for an NYR goalie develop so passionately? Thought maybe you would have glommed on to Bernie Parent or somebody like that? :) P.S. I like the running perma-thread idea as well. :)

You have an outstanding Giacomin collection, a ton of very solid pieces there.
Thanks a lot for sharing the loot.
Cheers.
Dan.

Parent? I'm a Pens fan!!! LOL.

To seriously answer your question, one of my previous PCs was vintage game used cards, mostly ITG obviously. I just liked the old beat up game-used chunks so I started up a collection. I'm 41 so never saw any of those players play so I tried to learn more about each respective player. I found a really cool Legends Of The NHL series on YouTube and after watching Eddie's a couple times I focused more on his cards. Listening to him talk about his love or playing in NY, how hard it was to leave, the return to MSG, etc I became a big fan pretty quickly. I did end up selling that PC but a couple years ago, when my beloved BTP wax dried up I looked for a focused PC for collecting and began collecting Eddie. And that's how this bank account mauling PC started!

Admittedly I stole the perma-thread idea from Creasecollector, LOL!

Yes, it worked out about as well as anyone could have hoped for. It's been a long, worried filled, few months but just got a pretyt much "all good" report about the situation earlier this week so it was a HUGE sigh of relief. Thanks for the wishes!

Thank you for the comments as well, they're appreciated. Nice to have something to take your mind off at times, but you also get slapped hard upside the thinker that there's a lot more important things than cardboard.

To you both, and everyone else, happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Last few to finish off November. The supply chain problem is real!

Already have a 1/1 copy of this exact card. One is Gold, one is Platinum but pretty indistinguishable really.

Thanks to a HI member for the Enshrined card. Nice to find the BTP Franchise card as well as the older BTP stuff doesn't pop up that much. Oddly enough I realized I'm missing the 11/12 auto. Wonder how many times I ignored that one on eBay. Doh!

Not a lot in my supply chain due in. Hoping a bunch of them pop up on eBay here soon! As it stands I'm at 623 unique Giacomin cards. If anyone has any...I have a good home for them!
