I figured a show and tell this time of year would be to show off a bunch of Joe Thornton stuff that I have picked up since deciding to collect him earlier this year. That however would be quite a task as I have added a ton of cards. From trades(thanks to lots of members!) and generosity(Lookin' at you Billie! :beer: ) here to purchases on ebay my collection of his has grown quickly to several hundred cards already with a great mix of new and older stuff.
This show and tell is a lot bigger than that for my PC though. With Taylor Pyatt heading overseas his NHL cards should be done. The first card is of him from his last NHL team - the Pittsburgh Penguins:
Select Update Gold Prizm /10
I was shocked to see him included in the Select Update inserted in Rookie Anthology this year but it adds a little bit of finality, picturing him with Penguins so at least he had a card for every team he played for. These golds are much nicer in person than they appear in scans. Only one I'm missing from Select is the Black 1/1... maybe that will pop up one day, but I'm not holding my breath.
The next card is now the centerpiece to my Taylor Pyatt PC, and probably my favorite card I own. I have only seen one of these for sale and it was roughly 7-8 years ago on ebay. The seller at the time looked to be breaking up a set and I was no match for the combination of player collectors and other set builders. It went for WAY more than I could afford at the time.
Fast forward to earlier this month, and during my daily ebay search, I see this card at the top of the list when I selected "Newly Listed" and immediately freaked! It was listed as a BIN, and at a price I was more than willing to pay. I couldn't hit the BIN fast enough. When I looked at the auction a little closer, I found that the card had been listed for less than an hour before I saw it. Great timing if you ask me!

02-03 Bowman YoungStars Triple Stuff Jersey/Stick/Patch /10
Anyone who has collected this set, or have PC players with cards in this set knows that these don't come up very often at all. Being a card numbered to 10, and from a set that is 12 years old I figured it would remain on the wantlist.
From a completion standpoint, these 2 cards bring me to only needing 1 more non 1/1 Taylor Pyatt card. His 1999 Bowman CHL Gold Autograph /50 is all that remains. I have never seen a copy of it, or any other player in that set either, only the regular and silver versions. So unless a 1/1 happens to pop up or somewhere or that 99 Bowman Gold Auto exists and shows up, that essentially closes the book on the Pyatt PC. I will still pick up multiples of cards I like of his here and there but I can honestly say that I have satisfied the completionist in me.
