OPC Platinum Case Break

I saw a few posts asking about these, so I thought I'd share. I'm still working on scans (working around my 4-yr-old's birthday party this weekend), so I'll add those as I can.

I've been limiting myself to just regular OPC lately, but really wanted to do a 'late season' set and so my love of OPC combined with a love for Chromies led me to OPC Platinum. [A big thank you to frankiefives as well - you were totally right on!]

The break was huge fun! I really enjoyed busting this product and while I may not have hit the jackpot, I'm pretty happy with how it all went... (And, hopefully, I'll be able to use some of it to finish up the OPC SSPs I need or land a nice Mantha Platinum auto). My only negative comment would be that collation on some of the inserts was weak. I hit duplicate Puck Personas in one box and managed 3 of a couple of several retros (the groups of 5 in a box appear to duplicate...).

I ended up talking myself into a full 16-boxer... Here's the results (pretty much everything but one base set is available)...

Base Cards: 4 complete sets, almost a 5th. 5 of most of the top rookies.

Base Rainbow: 80 cards, a couple duplicates. Hit several of the big name rookies and many stars.

Ice Blue Traxx : 32 cards, a few of the better rookies (Matthews, Laine, and Mantha) and stars.

Red Prism /199 : 15 cards, Mantha was the best one.

Royal Blue Cubes /99 : Connor McDavid, Tyler Johnson, Patrick Kane, Nicklas Backstrom, Max Domi, Ondrej Palat, John Tavares, Matthew Tkachuk RC, Joel Eriksson EK RC

Seismic Gold /50 : Nazem Kadri, Jonathan Quick, Milan Lucic, Bryan Little

Rainbow Orange /25 : Brandon Saad, Leon Draisaitl, Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Kevin Shattenkirk

Emerald Surge /10 : Artem Anisimov, Patrick Sharp


Printing Plate Black 1/1 : Tyler Johnson



Retro : 80 cards, a few dupes.

Retro Rainbow : 16 cards, Mitch Marner and Zach Werenski were notable

OPCP in general will never really yield massive hits, but it's an overall fun rip with lots of variety.

I really like the look of those Black Retro Autos and was considering doing the set. Then checked the odds of the SPs and saw Matthews at 1:40,000 packs and Marner 1:110,000 packs or some such craziness and decided not to bother. That said, some of the best looking cards in a while imho.
