Hi all,

Looking for some opinions from this small but vocal minority of Upper Deck purchasers! I may just be barking up the wrong tree here, but is it time for alot of us seeking our long last redemptions to all file complaints with the Better Business Bureau? Maybe a mass complaint by many would at least wake these people up and let them know our hard earned dollars should be appreciated? Anything else come to mind? I don't think any of us are strong enough to boycott what we enjoy but something has to give????

My old memory remembers a bunch of you meeting with UD at last November's convention and getting promised that things were better and getting better. Well, it appears to me that there half assed Customer Service has gone from suspect at best to totally tragic and it also appears the redemption problem is bigger in the other sport card areas aside from Hockey.

I have asked this question of the rep's and Chris Carlin over the last few months as to if a card shows that it is in the process of being shipped, why isn't is shipped? I have 8 or 9 cards out for redemption, some over a year now and a couple of them show ready to ship for a year but I guess that isn't what it really means! So, what does it mean? Can't seem to get that question answered.

So, while all of us have other reasons posted with respect to redemption delays, it's obvious to me that the Executive Management of Upper Deck isn't listening to their Customer Service Department and adding staff to deal with this problem or they don't give a dam! As far as I'm concerned, these mucky muck's shouldn't get their next Xmas bonus until all the redemptions that are "in house", ready to ship have been shipped! Do you give a damm?

So, let me know what you all think and if you think I'm nuts, I guess I will figure that out. If anybody from UD or other brands is reading, ask yourself this question...do you care about your customers and the service after sale and if you think you do, lets have the truth here and get with it before next year's products hit the shelves.......

Thanks, Jerry
A little speculation on my part....

People keep buying the products, UD isn't gonna change so long as they're raking in the money.
Just the way I see it. It'll take more than a BBB complaint to make them change. If everyone just didn't buy wax for a couple releases (starting with The Cup), I bet UD would start singing a different tune... especially coupled with the SPA disaster this year.

Although I love the thrill of opening boxes, I am slowly turning against the lousy products that have represented Upper Deck over the last two years especially. I have already made the decision to cut back severely next year.

From the word around here, a lot of others are thinking along the same lines, if not leaving the hobby altogether.

If the groundswell of upset consumers continues, sales will drop off and the better-service cycle will start again.

Unfortunately, we're caught in the downswing and it will will awhile before it gets better.

I think the retail and restaurant industry is doing the same thing right now after a decade or so of generally-tremendous service. Courtesy and care for the customer is on the decrease again.

IMO, filing a class-action lawsuit won't work as the buck will be passed to the players in the case of autographs, as an example. A complaint to the BBB would likely end up in a file somewhere as they require the complainant to suggest an alternative solution, and what else can a disgruntled consumer suggest? We cover so many jurisdictions and regions that I doubt we could get the power to light a big enough fire. The power of the dollar is the best way to get what you want...

Again IMO, someone from UD has to give a hoot and I doubt that is the case.

my 3 cents...
Michael.

the SPA disaster is one thing that should definitly be looked into, how can we trust any of the print runs when half the cards havent been released
