I'd like to take this thing, if I may, in a totally different direction. While heated banter may work for other hockey-related boards, I feel like HI only works when we have a unique community spirit. (Imagine paying a guy for a white whale and hoping he's not another team's fan and thus just keeps your money out of spite...)

So...

A lot of people here have obviously watching the playoffs, whether your team is in it or not. If you have a team in it, you've been watching your opponents.

Name a player that you watched this year, your playoff hero, who is not on your team and you wished he was. I'll go first:

Shane Doan. He can play for my Kings ANY TIME. (Well, any time other than when we play against Phoenix!) I'd pick him over Giroux. Seriously.

Who's yours? :)

I'd go with Mike Smith (or even Burkie as our goalie coach!). Smith was great all year and even better in the playoffs!

NYR - Lundqvist
Bos - Chara
Fla - Kopecky (after what he visited Demitra's grave with his silver medal)

Pitt - Malkin
Phi - Giroux
NJ - Brodeur
Wash - Hunter
Ott - Alfie

St L - Pietrangelo
Pho - Doan
Nash - Weber
Det - Datsyuk
Chi - Toews
SJ - nobody really. Couture?
LA - Quick, Richards, Brown.

For 3rd/4th line guys:
Neil
Stoll, Richardson, King
Clarkson

and the winner is Hunter!

There are a couple guys that I have been fans of for a while for one reason or another that have had exellent playoffs - a couple of them are on the market this year so I am curious to see where they end up.

Zach Parise
Travis Zajac
Ryan Suter

Brayden Holtby was also dynamite for Washington - hard to really tell where this kid will go with his career but I would be excited if I were a Caps fan.

Parise - I have never rellay like the guy but he killed the flyers. He set the pase and no one could keep up. He continues into this series as well and now they are one game away from the finals.

mine may be an oddball but Clarkson of the Devils.. what a beast!

My votes are...
Brown-kings (he really picked it up in the playoffs),
Henrique-Devils(this kid is playing amazing, love to see him in a leaf or flames sweater)
Marty B- Devils (guy can still backstop to the finals, have a feeling he wants to play still)
Briere- Philly (where did this guy come from? holy crap love the way hes playing)
Weber-Preds (awesome performance, I forgive the Zetterberg head slam)
Thornton- Sharks (yeah I'm cheating here but he looked like the only one who cared besides Havlat, and Havlat was just happy to be playing again)
